Incumbent Republicans appeared poised to cruise to victory in key primary elections Tuesday, offering fresh evidence that the partys establishment wing has successfully neutralized outside conservative groups that have vexed congressional leaders since the rise of the tea party.
In Kentucky, Sen. Mitch McConnell, the partys leader in the Senate, easily won renomination for a sixth term against a tea-party-backed challenger who hoped to tap into tea party activists distrust of GOP leaders in Washington. Shortly after polls closed, the Associated Press declared McConnell the winner.
McConnell now faces what will probably be a more significant challenge in the general election from Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, who glided to the Democratic nomination Tuesday.
As in Kentucky, an effort by conservative groups to unseat an ally of House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) appeared to fizzle in Idaho. Rep. Mike Simpson was on track to defeat his tea-party-funded challenger, Bryan Smith, with help from a late infusion of outside spending from establishment groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Pain will be the ultimate teacher.
You liberal republicans keep screaming that, but history shows that the last time the pubs had a majority in the senate, they legislated like liberals and spent like drunken sailors.
Your majority argument would be ok, if the leadership wasn't liberal.
Remember the gang of 14 that blocked conservative governance?

And the press spins it...not that 40 percent of your own voters don’t want you. It’s a “surge.” When Buchanan got 40 percent against Bush in the 1992 NH Primary, it was reported as proof of the incumbent’s deep unpopularity.
Screw the media pigs. Their favorites are the Dems, followed by the GOP fifth column.
If I lived in Kentucky, I’d vote for Alison L. Grimes in November. Screw Mitch.
I'm glad I didn't help Romney win, then. Because he certainly had a history of being pro-abortion, and outlawing guns.

That’s the most brilliant plan that I have seen in many, many years. You’ll show ‘em, that’s for sure.
1. Rand Paul would not be in the Senate without running as a Tea Party candidate. Rand Paul sold the Tea Party out making a deal for Mitch’s support for Rand’s presidential run.
2. If Rand endorsed Bevin how close would that race have been with the Paul ground game, and Rand raising Bevin’s name recognition?
3. Bevin lost but 36% of GOP/Tea voters dislike Mitch.
4. Mitch ran a scorched earth campaign against the Tea Party
saying they were all crooks (some are, so are GOPe) yet dollar for dollar Tea Party so far has elected more people per dollar raised than Karl Rove lost a Billion dollars last election.
5. Tea Party is a grass roots organization no one person is in charge. 36% of GOP must first forgive Mitch for going after Tea Party people as kooks, Hobbits, extremists before he can get them to show up to vote for him in November.
6. I am betting a lot of those 36% will vote for the Democrat because Mitch violated the Reagan 11th commandment
he went after the conservative base Reagan said “thou shalt not speak ill(on a personal level) of a fellow Republican”
Who will win in the fall? The Dip#### or the Pub-E?
Did the Dems vote early and often for Mitch or is it a closed primary?

Why would he need the Dems to vote for him when there are as many stupid a** Republicans as there are to vote for him?
Dude.... Your Post #33 wins the Prize for the Post of the Month for May!
ROFLMAO! Good point!
One this is sure. Who ever wins.. we loose.
Any man who doesn’t have the balls to bitch slap his wife who is whoring around on him with a dozen guys across the tracks isn’t a man at all. Mitch McConnell has been whoring around on the people he is supposed to be faithful to. Any Conservative man who does not bitch slap him is no man at all, but would be a political cuckold.
Lefty loosey, Righty loosey!
Well we got Alito and Roberts due to our majority. You won’t get those if we don’t have the majority that is guaranteed. We are one vote away from losing he Supreme Court. Ok we hate a decision here or there but try 100 percent of the time. Conservaitves need to pick good candidates. We have lost so many seats due to stupid candidates especially in the Senate.....They had Witch O’Donnell on all day today....it was obscene to continue to punish us for her stupidity.
Yeah, Roberts has turned out so well. /s
lol. I like him better than having the “Sodermyer Court” which could happen at some point.
