It was suggested that one be started so I'll take the lead!
“The goal has to be win the senate back without McConnell”
And that can be done. If McConnell loses, we’ll need seven seats. AR, MT, MI, OR, CO, WV, VA, AK, MN, IA, NH, NC, LA, SD are all possibilities. And if we win just half of these, that’s seven. Any more will be gravy.
That's right, that Obama he's quite a guy. No complaints from me on that score. And Reid, and Pelosi? My kind of folks. We need more of their types to run the country. Let's go gang, get out there and support those Dems so we can show everyone who's in charge.
Go Dee Adcock!!! Just flew back from his district. Fam members are good friends of his and I’ve known the fam for a while. Fine folks and I wish Dee well!
First of all, I’m not normally party first. I agree the RINOs are killing us just as Dems are killing us.
But if you can’t see the big picture this election then I’m sorry, you’re the low information voter.
And I’ll concede that the Republicans could win and the RINOs could continue to hold leadership and destroy us, could happen. But, again, a Republican majority this election is our only hope.
So call me names if it makes you feel better but I think that at some level you really do get it, what’s at stake here, and you can’t reconcile that with supporting Democrats and returning them to their mission of burying us.
IMHO
Former Congressman Mike Ross-D has defeated Lynette Bryant-D in the Arkansas Democratic Primary for Governor of AR. Also former Congressman Asa Hutchinson -R has defeated Tea Party favorite Curtis Coleman-R in the Republican primary race for the Governor of Arkansas, currently held by Mike Beebe-D.
They’ll be stopped by taking a principled stand against them. Mitch will not fight them.
I’d sooner spend a winter in Yorktown under Washington than all my summers under Arnold.
hey but Dancing w the Stars is on
Actually, that was a sound argument except I also hate McConnell and I do understand why he needs to go, I was rooting for Bevin all the way.
But he won the primary so it’s him or a Democrat. Obama has two years left after this election, Mitch could never do as much damage in those two years as a Democratic majority.
Is 2014 lost already? Reading some comments it seems that it is. I know that it is only a few select states’ primaries tonight, but still, I am getting why bother in November 2014 for conservatives vibes on this here thread.

Enemies in plain sight are easier to defeat than a friend who is stabbing you in the back.....
That's reality.
Your party sucks.

But, again, a Republican majority this election is our only hope.I've heard that exact same thing in every election cycle since the 1980s. You're not thinking big picture here as you just want your team to win. Think back to the last time the GOP had the senate with RINOs in charge. It was the worst of both worlds - they governed like Democrats but conservatives got all the blame when things went bad.
Since CPB has been a FReeper since 2000, maybe it’s time he got promoted...MajorPaintBall, ColonelPaintBall, heck, I’m up for GeneralPaintBall
Ah, that rings a bell. Thanks.
You think she is going to lose the Dem Primary? Did the ghastly Clintons campaign for her??
I understand. And you’re right that we need to take back the senate. The senate has been Obama’s shield. No bills get to him to he doesn’t have to make a decision. And if he doesn’t want a bill that’s passed the House, he just tells Reid he’ll veto it so Reid doesn’t bother. They’ve been protecting each other against the House.
The problem is that McConnell has been a shield, protecting the democrat majority, giving them votes when they need them to get a bill through. And he’s made very clear that he despises conservatives more than the democrats.
We’ve all argued about this many times and have different opinions. If I lived in Kentucky, I wouldn’t vote for the democrat but I wouldn’t vote for McConnell either. His ilk has counted on conservative votes for far too long because “they have nowhere else to go” or “the democrat’s worse.” Well, those days are over.

There’s a bigger issue here as well. The KY Dem Party is incredibly well-entrenched in the state, and has an exceptional record of winning statewide races in a state that historically votes overwhelmingly for Republican Presidents.
Grimes is part of that machine. The reason why she uses her maiden name so much is because it reminds people of her Dem machine pol daddy.
The truth, sad as it may be, is that McConnell *IS* pretty much the GOP Machine at the state level. He’s the one with the organization and the deep connections. If he loses to Grimes the GOP isn’t going to get the seat back in six years, or even 12 - it’ll basically be hers for as long as she wants it.
And him losing and taking with him his political organization and fundraising capabilities puts Rand Paul’s seat in jeopardy and in the longer run will take KY down the path Virginia has gone. I know there are issues with Paul, but he’s still better than 50% of the GOP caucus and is a needed voice in national GOP politics.
Was this a closed or open primary?
I am curious....
