McConnell is just like all the rest of them. They believe they are better than the average citizen and deserve a bigger piece of the American pie. So, they want to line their pockets and make sure their kids and grandkids are wealthy.
Once a good guy gets elected he’s told to tow the line or he will be destroyed by the elites and eventually forced to go back home or over to K street. And those who join the club are protected by every means possible. Every now and then one of them will be voted out. But that will happen long after he’s cashed in.
That is a well stated summary of politics in America today. There does not seem to be a solution to what you described - at least, at the moment, there is no solution.
