Michael Bays upcoming TV series The Last Ship on TNT premiering next month is the latest in a long line of programs that have featured the U.S. Navy and Marines. From action adventures and comedies to dramas and primetime soaps, the sea services have been represented in almost every genre (even dipping into reality TV, with shows such as Lone Target and Navy SEALs: BUDS Class 234).

I enjoyed’ COMBAT, with Vic Morrow.
Used to love that show. Just slightly before my time, but I was old enough to catch some re-runs.

Loved those Jeeps...
What about Tour of Duty? Was that about Marines or soldiers?
I recently watched the entire McHale’s Navy series on Hulu.
That was really a good show.
Thanks. BFL.
I liked NAVY LOG. and THE SILENT SERVICE.
Episodes of Navy Log and Silent Service are hard to find. Even more difficult is Men of Annapolis. The US Naval Academy keeps a copy of the entire series in its archives.
Forgot to mention my OTHER FAVORITE! VICTORY AT SEA!
