I’ll bet, Grampa...
Sorry you have to live that way.
For that matter, it sucks that any of us do.
For now.
Last time Les Chinois tried the Viets gave them a bloody nose. I wouldn’t put it past the Viets doing it again.
Just another consequence of having a weak U.S. President that the world just laughs at.
China KNOWS they can do whatever they want, and there won’t be any serious consequence for it. and Japan knows they are also on their own, as long as Obama is in office.

News You Won’t Be Seeing on the NBC Evening News.
(It makes Obama look weak again)
LEADING_FROM_BEHIND_PING!
Hey Obama, the 1960’s called. They want their foreign policy back!
“and the last time Vietnam kicked Chinas butt big time”
The last time, a stagnant China attacked a nation armed with our own US leave-behinds. Today, it’s Vietnam that has stagnated, and China that has the latest generation weapons.
I think this to intimidate Vietnam into stepping down. Failing that, it would make a fine scenario for testing all that new equipment they have been building for the last decade, and send an unmistakable message to other nations in the region.
“The kenyan would sanction 7 people”
Hence, the “hacking” charges today, that China has already laughed off, while asking, “NSA??”
Thanks. I knew that seemed weird.
I’m reading this book right now: http://www.amazon.com/Shattered-Trident-Larry-Bond/dp/0765331470
Fiction, but it almost reads like the news today. Unreal.
“we should send the Vietnamese all the mothballed Warsaw Pact equipment and munitions we can scrounge up”
Which isn’t going to happen, because China can collapse the US Economy with a snap of a finger. They know it, WE know it.
And we would still be begging them to send us iPhones and Playstations....
China would probably not be operating under US Rules of Engagement. It's more likely they would operate under Mongol Rules of Engagement.
China 2014 = Japan 1934
Vietnam 2014 = China 1934
Same old crap, different actors, different era...
The Chinese won’t fight them with one hand tied behind their back like we did.My money’s on the Chinese...first round...knockout.
We'll have to disagree on this subject, just as we disagree over the Ukraine situation.
Interesting!
China and Vietnam are both communist countries. The Vietnamese simply don’t want the Chinese taking over their territory and ruling over them. There’s much more to it, though. The commie mob boss state of the Soviet Union has tried to buy its way in to influence in Vietnam for generations.
Considering how these riots only started recently, it sure is suspicious that China is able to mobilize this quickly. An analyst of the Kremlin predicted that if Russia goes all-in on Ukraine, that China, which is a secret partner of Russia on this, would do the same in their sphere, the idea being that they are the two blades of a scissor in a larger campaign against the United States. This is merely the beginning. Vietnam, which will receive no sympathy for me, may just be the first victim that gets the ball rolling.
This ought to be quite a show
