There was a discussion on FR about Michael Sam selling T-Shirts on his website. It got me thinking when was this website created? If it was created after he came out then he is an entrepreneirial capitalist but if it was created before then he's all about himself and his gayness.
So I went to check on my local domain register and low and behold it was created October 13, 2013 but this where Sam might be in a little bit of trouble withe NCAA. The site was registered by his now agents Empire Athletes of Santa Monica, California and specifically Cameron Weiss who is listed as a contact on the front page of Sam's website.
This begs so many questions but mainly did any money exchange hands at this time? Had Sam actually signed with these guys? If he did this would be a clear violation of NCAA rules and thus should have become immediately ineligible and Mizzou should have to forfeit all the games Sam played in and return all the bowl money they received.
Secondary, how does this small agency in California find out about a relatively unknown (up to that point) player in the Midwest?
Am I a conspiracy nut or is this a possibility FRiends?
further- agents know about players all over the universe and under every rock or stone, so an agency in the far west signing a player in the remote northeast is not unusual....there are approximately 3x as many certified agents as there are players in the NFL so the laws of supply and demand are squarely on the prospective players side....
Oh yes
Not one peep from conservatives on how this guy is treated so royally vs tebow
Are you saying the AP knew he was gay and voted him as the SEC DPOY but didn't out him? Your timeline is out of whack and leads you to a pretty incorrect assertion.
Interesting. Sounds like bipolar, which I don’t think any team would really want to take on voluntarily.
YOU ARE A RACIST AND A HOMOPHOBE FOR EVEN SUGGESTING THIS! I AM ASKING THAT FREEREPUBLIC FINE YOU AND RE-EDUCATE YOU AS TO THE GLORY OF THE HOMOSEXUAL MICHAEL SAM!!
The fags have succeeded in scaring the hell out of people.
Back in the good ole days they were queers and looked down upon. . . .
Funny thing. Sam is the only FB player they signed who is actually on a NFL roster and in a mini camp.
I don’t look down on anyone. WE don’t discuss sex around here, we are civilized people.
Now we hear nothing but sex, and it’s perverted sex we have to hear about every day.
Never a break.
And these guys get red carpet.
Not one word on any panel at fox, nor the conservative stations on the preferential treatment this guy gets and what it is for kids to have to hear about what this guy is when the only identifier is what he does with men.
And tebow, as obnoxious as he may have been, got traded then benched after much humiliation.
Just comparing the two.
NFL?
If I had a son, we could not watch it for fear of his formation.
It’s a widely accepted and reasonable psychological theory that when kids, before puberty, find out about perverted sex, and in detail like this, presented as normal, it upsets their sexual formation.
No one in this situation cares about the boys growing up.
THe dads of this nation are in some kind of prison that they cannot or will not or don’t know enough to speak out on this, or on anything pertaining to their kids.
No wonder they’re portrayed as dufuses in most sit coms.
After doing some research, I don’t see any requirement for “institutional knowledge” for a forfeit. Can you cite a source for that position?
Not specifically other than what I remember from prior cases.
on the right path...a lot of players have been diagnosed with that issue but have been drafted if they are taking medication....
that’ because the agent is newly certified...he was an intern for years (the way most agents start out) for the firm who represents Blake Bortles (third pick in the draft from UCF) and Ben Roethlisberger....west coast agency grabbing a southeast player in the case of Bortles...
There was a recent case (Arkansas?) where the university discovered an issue, brought it to the NCAA with a self-recommended number of forfeits, and the NCAA increased the number of forfeits in the punishment. That leads me to believe that institutional knowledge may not be necessary.
I do know I’m not going to try and decipher the NCAA rule book to figure this out though! LOL
I guess that must be among the risks they’re willing to take to get talent.
But I’m a Pats fan who was disappointed to see them risk a first-rounder on Easley after his two ACL surgeries (and thrilled to see them take Garappolo as their next franchise man in the second).
speaking of the Pats and bi-polar disorder: Marquise Hill
Is he schizophrenic?
Yeah that's pretty much a waste of time as it's pretty arbitrary :-)
No.
I’m saying the news was out before the start of the 2013 college season.
It just wasn’t heavily promoted before the NFL Draft.
Interesting.
