While I’m sure business-friendly policies helped, I suspect the oil and gas boom resulting from high oil prices and the fracking revolution were big factors.

Because of the natural humility of Texans, many people don’t know much about our state, for instance the state song.

I don’t know the state songs for other states, but surely none could express more humility and national community than this simple choice, for such a modest state.

"Nice state you got there,"

"It'll be a shame if somebody put their Big. Dumb. Feet*...All over it...

*Or the EPA, or the BML, or filled it up with "dreamers."

They must have overlooked North Dakota, which leads the nation in both job growth and low unemployment.

Recently Ted Cruz said that Governor Perry, was not responsible for the great job growth in Texas. Cruz is correct. It is the business friendly environment in Texas that gives us our great economy. Governor Perry is the one that has extended and defended this normal environment in our great state for business to flourish.

In my past several millionaires have given me a job. I worked for them and made them money. They paid me a fair wage commensurate with my skills. I was willing to work in some god awful places, Nigeria, Middle East, North Sea, the jungles in South America, throw in a coup, malaria, dengue fever, thrown out of Dubai, jailed in Venezuela etc. but they paid me very well.

I am too old for this now, but God I miss it.

If you have valuable skills, come to Texas, we need you. If you do not have valuable skills, please stay in California, Oregon, Washington, New York, Massachutches etc.

Texas has growth in spite of Rick Perry.

If you are from Texas, and pay attention, you will know Rick is a RINO who talks big conservative, but he is all hat and no cattle when it comes to conservative.

No conservative Texan would want to force 14 year old girls in Texas to get inoculated for sexually transmitted diseases. Nor would a conservative Texan wan to seize land, and sell it to a Spanish company to build a tollway call the “Trans Texas Corridor”.

I could go on, but believe me Rick is a RINO.

People move to Texas to breathe free.

But don’t try to tell Obama that.

I'm one of those new Texas Migrants. I moved from Mississippi so the heat doesn't bother me, and I'm Conservative so I'm not bringing any stupid ideas about turning Texas "blue". My son just completed his freshman year in college in Mississippi, and I'm having him come out here to get a job this summer. Where I live, there's "Help Wanted" signs all over the place. Ideally, I'd love to get him a summer job in Construction or The Oil Patch (where they'd work his tail off and pay him well for 16 weeks). However, whereever he can get work would be fine.

I really enjoy living in Texas. I feel like the Lord sent me here.

Rick Scott here in Florida is saying that he bought down the jobless rate and he did. Another state with a Republican governor, who should win against the snake Charlie.

Texas just took 1500 Toyota jobs away from northern Kentucky, not because of a bad business environment in N. Kentucky, but because they are getting out of California and relocating in Texas. I guess they just figured it was best to consolidate other operations at the same time.

I can see that. It saves them money to consolidate some operations.

I hope Toyota is not counting on “amnesty” providing them with new, cheap labor.
