JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Authorities say a conservative Mississippi blogger went into a nursing home, photographed the bedridden wife of Republican U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran without permission and posted an image online as part of an anti-Cochran video.

Rose Cochran, 72, has lived at St. Catherine's Village since 2000 and has dementia.

Clayton Thomas Kelly, 28, of Pearl, was arrested Friday and charged with a felony, exploitation of a vulnerable adult, Madison police said. Kelly remained in the Madison County Detention Center on Saturday on $100,000 bond. It wasn't immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

Police Sgt. Robert Sanders wouldn't identify Rose Cochran as the person who was photographed. Cochran attorney Don Clark said an unauthorized photo of Rose Cochran was taken in her nursing home room, near her bedside, and it was posted briefly online as part of a video.

If he’s faithless with his wife, who he swore to take care of for better or worse, why do we think he’ll be any better with his constituents?

He could afford to have her cared for at home. Or one of his children’s homes. These are NOT poor people. She became inconvenient to him, his mistress and his lifestyle. So he shipped her off to the closest thing to a 3rd world country in this country. If she does or does not recognize him is immaterial to his faithlessness. Ongoing faithlessness.

Even slow people understand what happens in these facilities. Abuse, mistreatment, molestation are rampant. Especially to patients who can’t verbalize their treatment to anyone else.

You don’t put your wife in a HOME 1500 MILES away from your ability to see about her. Especially if OUR tax dollars will pay for in home around the clock care for her. And you’re not going to try to tell me he’s doing this to pinch taxpayer pennies when he’s voted for trillions in spending.

He threw her away. 1500 miles away.

Do you really think he’ll treat his constituents any better? He voted for LOST, he voted for START and he supports amnesty.

Faithless. Sums up Thad Cochran in one word.

She should have been at home with her family being cared for by trusted people. This would NEVER have happened had he and his kids not thrown her away.

The little chippy better take notice.

If they do it with you they’ll do it to you.

BTW, how is what Cochran is doing with this woman any different than what John Edwards did with Rielle when Mrs. Edwards was ill?

Conservatives just about flamed out with indignity at that one.

They’re defending this one.

Truly amazing the situational ethics here. Truly amazing.

One difference is that Mrs. Edwards was physically sick but cognitive; Mrs. Cochran may be physically strong, but she has NO cognitive ability. Try to understand that, if you are capable.

I just commented on that:

The fact that his wife was mentally infirm makes it WORSE what he did. At least Mrs. Edwards could give him a piece of her mind. Or call lawyers to divorce him.

Poor Mrs. Cochran got warehoused in a state far away instead.

At the tender mercies of complete strangers.

Meanwhile Thad lived it up in DC with his little chippy. On the public dime no less.

He’d have been fired in corporate for that btw. HR and legal don’t tolerate boinking the help. Particularly if they find out you’ve been using business trips on company funds as pleasurable boondoggles.

Situational ethics indeedy.

What other iffy financial stuff has he done?

The little chippy supposedly has a six figure salary. And she’s the highest paid for her particular position in all of DC. And goes to the best parties. And lots of foreign countries. All on our dime.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Cochran is warehoused in a state far away.

Yup. Nice man Mr. Cochran.

If a democrat had done this this board would melt down with indignation. Since it’s a GOPe that’s done it we should understand ‘situational ethics’.

Not so much. Sorry.

What evidence do you have other than a picture with McDaniel?

Still a million times more evidence than you have provided.

My theory is supported by all the OTHER scummy stuff the GOPe has done over the past 20 years.

None of which is evidence of anything here.

Prosecuting Attorney Black Agnes: "Jury, the defendant is guilty of murder. My proof? Most others put on trial for murder were guilty!"
