n a speech in Washington on Friday, Hillary Clinton repeatedly criticized economic and social conditions under President Obama, barely mentioning the accomplishments of the man who appointed her secretary of State. Clinton's address, at the New America Foundation, was a broad indictment of the country's current leadership, with exactly one -- one -- note of praise for the Democratic president Clinton has called her partner and friend.
Clinton, never known for self-effacement, began by noting her lifelong desire to make the world a better place and the "driving force" toward public service instilled in her by her mother. From there, Clinton went on to describe the United States today as a very troubled place.
In remarks focused almost exclusively on domestic economic concerns, Clinton began by noting what she called "the basic bargain of America." "No matter who you are or where you come from," she said, echoing her husband's campaigns from the 1990s, "if you work hard and play by the rules, you'll have an opportunity to build a good life."
But: "For too many families in America today, that isn't the way it works. Instead of getting ahead, they're finding it harder and harder than ever to get their footing in our changing economy. The dream of upward mobility that made this country a model for the world feels further and further out of reach."
Millions of Americans are "frustrated, even angry" about today's economy, Clinton said. Falling into poverty is a constant threat, and upward mobility is almost impossible. "Forget about getting rich," Clinton told the audience, "I'm talking about getting into the middle class and staying there."
While productivity is up, Clinton noted, "wages have stagnated." "Americans are working harder, contributing more than ever
and yet many are still barely getting by."

Echos of the Zero Campaign, she is getting ready for 2016.
I never once had the sense that Hillary had any connection with me or my “dreams”.
Yes, my “dream” of never seeing this fossil near the White House ever again is slipping away.
But the nightmare inches closer every day.
We need to keep hammering the mistakes of her failed Secretary of State ....zero accomplishments and Benghazi.
and if she becomes President ,Bill will pick up where Obama left off ,but Obama is not going anywhere ,they’re going to use the Race Card for the third term
Exactly which of his accomplishments could she have mentioned? Everyone I can think of are negative accomplishments which are harmed, and it will take many years for us to overcome,
Even Hitlery is smart enough to see that!
“For too many families in America today, that isn’t the way it works. Instead of getting ahead, they’re finding it harder and harder than ever to get their footing in our changing economy.”
Oh is that what it is? A “changing economy” causing these problems. I thought it was constant government meddling in every aspect of our lives causing economic stagnation.
One good thing I think the United States should adopt from most developed countries is drop the length of time you can campaign to 1-3 months before the actual election. It’s exhausting for everyone when you have to start campaigning only a few months after the last election, for the current one.
I bet more people would pay attention if America didn’t have to deal with these perpetual campaigns.
We know what YOUR dream is PIAPS — and it is NOT Liberty.
Looks like i’ll have to vote for Bernie Saunders in the primary.
She sure is gearing up.
And where are our folks?
I hope they are taking notes.
If her stint as SOS is a glimpse of a Hillary term, were are in deep trouble. I find it interesting she is choosing to run against BHO. It may be as successful as McCain distancing himself from Bush in 2008. She strikes me as a sloppy campaigner. Hillary, like BHO are media creations. When you see them actually perform, they fall way short of the media narrative.
Lest we forget, she lost the nomination to an unknown rookie
“Four more years of Obama.” A winning strategy for the GOP.
Hillary’s one and only chance to be president has come and gone. The Democrats want new blood and not old farts like the Clintons, and after eight years of this trainwreck the American people won’t put in another lefty to follow. Maybe I’m being optimistic but I refuse to accept that the Hillabeast is a done deal for 2016.
Maybe if we stopped importing 1.1 million mostly poor and uneducated permanent legal immigrants a year, wages might be increasing rather than decreasing. The Gang of 8 bill will almost triple legal immigration to over 33 million in the next decade and double the guest worker programs from 650,000 a year to 1.4 million a year. American jobs for American workers.
Correct! Only with my nightmares!
