Week eight!
Interesting to note that this week, bulk pistol ammo is trending down from previous prices at vendors. Only a couple of vendors have increased.
SG Ammo is showing the lowest of the week for 3 types of rifle ammo (in 500 round lots). Bang It Ammo is showing high prices across the board but it seems that they have more specialty than anything.
As always, if you have comment or witticisms, please leave them below. And if you find that some of the items are now out of stock or the prices have significantly changed, please let the other readers know. Also, if you know of any vendors that are not represented here and you have had a good experience with, comment below and we will see about adding them.
We have also included the raw data so you can run your own trends: Weekly Ammo Prices: 2014-05-16

Thanks for this info. Can you tell me why .22 rimfire prices remain so high?
Other than it being scarce? Not really. Hoarders maybe who have an inside track and get there before the rest of us? Dealers holding back? Don’t know for sure but who ever thought you’d forgo a day at the range to kinda preserve your stash of 22lr. Like I said about gasoline. Ammo probably won’t ever go back to where it was. Close maybe. Even buying components to load your own is expensive and hard to find in some places.
Hoarding, price gouging, and high demand.
I'll buy some more .22LR when it comes down to $40.00 a brick.

Reasonable prices when they have stock, and price includes shipping.
YMMV

Rare Ammo had good prices on PPU 308 brass boxer primer last week. 57 cents a round. Had to find non-steel cases anymore. The Roosians (and other “Eastern bloc” countries) are dominating all the ammo stocks with steel or zinc cases at low prices.
Had = Hard
Demand outstripping supply...consider an AK-74. It’s 5.45x39, and cheaper than .22lr.
Relying on Gunbot, I was able to pick up 4000 rounds of Federal #510 40 gr .22lr lead round nose, 1250 ft/sec for $.04 per round last week. It was in bricks of 500 each. Now for some copper washed or plated ... looking for Federqal .22 magnum #757, for pistol ammo.
Geez do they even make.35 Remington anymore?
Yup!
I haven’t ordered any ammo or powder online. Don’t the shipping and hazmat costs negate any real savings?
A neighbor buys some of his stuff from a wholesaler he knows. Don’t know what powder he just bought but I think he said he spent about $200 for 4 pounds. I may have “mis-heard” him though.
No shipping or haz-mat fees?
Woah, that isn’t really cost-effective.
Like I said, I may have “mis-heard” him.
My own contribution to lower prices is that I am out of the 22lr market permanently. It is too unstable a market.
Probably will go with .32 in the future.
