I wonder what position the Stars and Stripes has taken on the issue, if any.

The Under Secretary for Health has just resigned.
0bamugabi won't fire Shin because as long as he's in office he'll take the heat, not Hussein. Think of Shin as an even more hapless version of Sebelius....

Fox News just announced VA deputy , a Mr. Pretzel , just ‘stepped down ‘
To: kristinn
He fired an underling just minutes ago. Not him of course, but a flack to keep the wolves from Obama’s door.

Shinseki cannot avoid having to go. But he’s only symbolic of the problem. Replacing him will be like putting in a new IRS Commissioner. Just a different slice from the same turd sandwich. FUBO doesn’t want anyone who will really set about to fix the problem, because it will “reflect badly” on his Admin.

This idiot is the one who yesterday said he didn’t know if falsifying appointment records where someone died was a ‘ dismissable offense’
This entire horror is sad BUT remember Clinton opened up the VA to anyone who served period. even for 2 years and all of that spent in California
But Clinton never increased the budget
Thankfully combat vets do get priority but there aren’t enough medical people to serve everyone
This is a clear view of boamacare

Out to be in prison just for making us wear that damn beret.

They have not as yet called on him to resign. Nor has VFW. American Legion has. Most are holding fire. Waiting for internal investigations...

Shinseki was appointed as a middle finger to Bush. Obama firing him would be seen as admitting Bush was right about Shinseki.

Obama will never let Shinseki step down.
He doesn't want the spectacle of another Cabinet confirmation hearing going into the mid-term elections.

We are discussing a culture of corruption that goes all the way to the top.
This is all symbolic, a dog and pony show. When the entire leg is gangrenous, removing the baby toe is of no practical value other than to say “there, we’ve done something”.

Someone here suggested the other day that Kathleen Sebilius would replace Shinseki.
Not sure who would want the job.

[Stars and Stripes] not as yet called on him to resign. Nor has VFW. American Legion has. Most are holding fire. Waiting for internal investigations...That is the prudent course, I think. OTOH, if Shinseki were to follow his Japanese ancestry rather than his American individuality, he would already have resigned to take responsibility for the situation.

Not sure who would want the job.Given the present CinC, no one. Given a more receptive-to-the-military CinC, any hard-nosed turnaround-CEO-type would do. I would suggest Steve Forbes (except for his age) or Alan Mulally.
