Lord care for this man.
RIP.
We are losing our best while the current Nero fritters away the nation.
He is a HERO!!GOD Bless This Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing man!
Side note - it is very disturbing that a CSM got shot...makes me wonder if this was a ‘green on green’ murder.
May he rest in peace. He was doing his duty, in what has become a meaningless war under a POTUS who sides with our enemies.
A little more from the short article:
The Pentagon said in a statement that Command Sgt. Maj. Martin R. Barreras, 49, died May 13 in Texas after suffering injuries in Afghanistan on May 6.
Barreras, known as Gunny, was the top enlisted soldier for a unit based in Fort Bliss, Texas at the time of his death, according to the Army Times. He joined the Army in 1988 after serving five years in the Marine Corps.
This was the CSM’s 8th combat tour and from the posts I’ve seen from the USAMU he was extremely well liked and respected.
That kind of sidenote, is not necessary to publish
Eight combat tours? Our shrunken military must use up our best and bravest serving military for dangerous missions far in excess of survival odds, even those who survive the odds come back harmed in body & soul due to wounds or stress or because the time away has meant marital strife and time lost with their children. Enlarge the force to reduce the deployments per fighter and don’t enter into wars except for vital national interests.
RIP.
God bless him.
RIP.
