On Wednesday, former Congressman Allen West told Ben Shapiro that he is considering a run for President in 2016.
Shapiro: And I am not saying somethings going to happen. But I am hearing very strong rumorswe have to ask there have been very strong rumors that you are interested in throwing your hat into the ring for the 2016 presidential nomination on the Republican side of the aisle. Is there any truth to those rumors?
West: Well look, the thing is this. As I was doing the motorcycle ride across the country and wherever we stopped, you know, fuel stop, overnight stop, people would come up and they would ask me that question.
It would be very disrespectful and dismissive of great Americans if I did not step back and take the time to consider it and pray about it and talk it over with close confidantes. So that what I will do. And we will make the right decision, not just for me but for the country and for the future of this great constitutional republic.
So am I considering it? Yes. I am considering it. That does not mean I am going to jump it and do it, but in respect to those people who are so very kind and believe that I have that level of capacity and capability, thats what I have to do for them.

Amen brother. Says it ALL !
I really like Ted Cruz but he should stay in the Senate where he should be Majority Leader, not President. I think his expertise as a lawyer makes him a better fit for a Senator.
He had me at “constitutional republic”...LOL.
A real Honest to God, American Grown Man?
I would vote for that.
Thank You Lord, for true patriots.
Tatt
Yup. BTTT
Agreed.
Which Scott? Tom or Rick?
Ugh. Another unqualified candidate looking to run and splitting the conservative vote in the process.
Agree!!
Stay out da d@ng Bushes!!!
I don’t think the word “unqualified” should be thrown around with no regard for what it means.
est?
After NDAA 2012?
After the USDA Pigford vote?
After “Justice for Trayvon”?
After backpedalling from confronting Odinga?
He’s a politician. he wants two things: your vote, and his job.
Polite pass.
I second that motion.
If there’s one thing I would expect following this sort of announcement from Col. West, it’s a frenzy of posters straight out of troll camp headquarters.
I would be proud to support this black man for the office of President of the United States . . . he is million miles separated from the black child that presently is holding our oval office hostage to his wicked brand of socialism.
What if no one else goes with him? I frankly could give a fig . . . I will continue to vote my principles, not what the world tells me is best for me.
I”ve got plenty of regard for what it means. He’s a one-term former congressman.
So effective he just accidentally voted for the Pigford fraud?
please don’t...I love you and would vote for you in a moment....however, you can’t win and you would draw MANY votes from a potential Republican winner.
To be “qualified” for office in this political era means no more than whether a person is willing to compromise his principles for the sake of politics.
In other words, we don’t want anyone qualified for DC politics.
Imagine if we had a black conservative in the White House as powerful and committed as Colonel West.
Why, you think you’ve heard how that it is simply racist how we treat their halfrican un-American president now - just wait and see what kind of treatment they will dole out to our Uncle Tom oreo-cookie president then.
” - - - But the public looks for experience. - - - “
Really?
Then list 10 things that Obama in 2008 had more experience than any other Democrat politician alive then.
