Border guards at Lithuanias Kybartai railway checkpoint stopped a train from Kaliningrad, Russia, from entering their nation on Monday because it was adorned with Soviet symbols.
Windows in the chartered train were plastered with posters of Soviet symbols, which are illegal in Lithuania. Theyre illegal because Lithuanialike the nation of Ukrainewas part of the Soviet Union for decades, and suffered under ussr oppression.
It was a terrible 50 years for us in Lithuania, Sara Linkevičiūtė, a resident of Vilnius, told theTrumpet.com on May 14. Citizens were deported to Siberia for genocide, she said, explaining that she and her compatriots would do whatever is necessary to prevent Lithuania from returning to its dark Soviet chapter.

Good for them.
Worst that can happen is Russia occupying Lithuania. Again.
I don’t think Putin would be that stupid considering Lithuania is a NATO member.
Were it not for the Soviet Russians, they’d likely have a standard of living on par with the Finns or Danes. So much wasted.
Lithuania will be punished for the sins of WWII and for not expelling the hoards of Russians the USSR sent to stabilize the country for the Soviets. The same or similar rational will be used by Putin to resurrect the Russian Empire.
And we have Obama and Lurch standing in their way??? Oh well, our military is already got as much as it can handle with transgender policies. Best to completely liquidate it since it takes some much money away from important matters. Homeland Security has enough troops to handle the home front.
“I dont think Putin would be that stupid considering Lithuania is a NATO member.”
You don’t think that really matters any more do you?
Georgia was NATO and they are up to their eyeballs in
Russians now.
“After officials removed the posters, the train and over 200 Russian passengers were permitted to leave the Kybartai checkpoint.”
Test balloon. Just to see what they would do.
Georgia is not a member of NATO.
This article appeared to me to have all the earmarks of propaganda.
So I looked up the Trumpet on their “About” page and low and behold it’s tied to the cult founded by Herbert Armstrong known as the Worldwide Church of God .
So I say, consider the source.
They removed the posters and the train and 200 (supposed) Russian passengers continued on their trip.
Ethnic Russians make up only about six percent of the population of Lithuania. In Latvia and Estonia, they make up about a quarter of the population.
The worldwide is under new ownership. They reverted to main stream Sunday worship and abandoned the Biblical Holy days in favor of the more popular religious holidays. I don’t think you have anything to fear from them.
What are you talking about? Lithuania has the lowest percentage of Russians (about 5.5) than any of the Baltics. The percentage was more than 9 in 1990. There are more Poles than Russians.
After the world war, Lithuanian partisans for the Russians for more than a decade. That held down the number of Russians staying there.
You’ve got to include the 200 “tourists” in your calculations. I do imagine Estonia should be the first to fall but Putin might take into account geography as well as ethnicity. It’s adjacent to the isolated sliver of Russia and that isolation has to bother him.
See #16.
Was Georgia part of NATO? I was under the impression that they aren’t or weren’t at the time.
The Armstrongites are indeed a poison. There are a few of the fiends on FR.
