Rams defensive end Michael Sam is getting a reality show.
The Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that it is working with Sam on a reality TV project that will show his life as the first openly gay player in the NFL.
We are honored that Michael is trusting us with his private journey in this moment that has not only made history but will shape it forever, Oprah Winfrey said in a statement. I am proud of the focus on authentic storytelling in our new documentary series format.

Rams screwed up drafting him. I’m sure every other player on the team wants cameras in their faces judging their every reaction to Sam. Way to go Jeff Fisher screwing up your team chemistry, not because the guy is gay but because he is an attention seeking drama queen.
Was it Fisher’s call?
Wow the comments on sports sites to this news is VERY BAD for Sam and the gay cause. Almost universally against Sam now. Once again the liberals overplay their hand. They claim to simply want acceptance and an equal chance and the very second they got it they shoved gaycake in everyone’s faces.
Fisher is very high up in the NFL power structure. He may have agreed to the PR move as a loyal NFL soldier but he better have a quick exit strategy.
Yes. And they’re the team of a friend.
So why not mine the big bucks from Oprah while the mining is good? It's an insurance policy. Plus he may make as much or more money over the long run in the TV entertainment field and lucrative speaking engagements than he could in a couple of years of getting bashed and battered in pro ball.
The enticing lure of fast TV bucks lured Sarah Palin. I hope it's only for a while but I doubt it. Once bitten, forever hooked. Why should she get bashed and battered in the political ball fields when she can make big bucks on TV in relative psychological safety while still being an important political leader?
These people have to make big decisions....and I don't purport to say or know whether they're making the right ones or not. Only they know what's best for them.
All I know is that it would be nice to have their choices, LOL.

They did not tell the NFL about it? Doesn’t that violate some kind of NFL rule?
Also remember, the NFL has this thing called an “Anti-Trust Exemption” hanging over their heads.
Just perhaps the Obama Administration has reminded them of that from time-to-time, which my explains the NFL’s recent PC turns.
This guy isn’t playing a down on a real NFL game and he knows it. He didn’t even try to be in shape at the NFL combine he stunk it up.
Many (not all) of the NFL owners are Obama supporters.
The Steelers had an Obamacare rally with Sebelius in their stadium.
You and I called it, though I did get the network wrong.....
We will be treated to endless mini-stories on this loser all season. When he gets cut, there will be protests and intimidation campaigns. He will then go on to star in his own reality show. This pop-culture nation is so disgustingly ill right now.

I bet ESPN already has plans for a reality show documenting Sam in Training Camp.

If they don't want to be tarred and feathered in the press and forced to sell, they pretty much have to support the left.
I bet the DNC is already recruiting him to go into politics.
It’s probably all planned out
Without a doubt.
I bet two seconds after that kiss, the Rams were thinking, “Holy F-—, what did we just do?”
LOL yeah. The “reality” show kicked in as soon as he got the draft call.
