Revelations on the Krasnoarmeysk killings (Right Sector Leader Identified)
Paris Match ^ | 5-15-2014 | Alfred de Montesquiou

Members of the Ukrainian ultra-nationalist group Pravy Sektor took part in a commando-style raid against the Donbass referendum last Sunday, killing two unarmed civilians in the town of Krasnoarmeysk, an investigation by Paris Match has found.

Rumours had spread among separatists for several weeks about radical Pravy Sektor militants hiding amid government forces loyal to Kiev to perpetrate actions targeting pro-Russian groups in eastern Ukraine. Though a small political force, Pravy Sektor played a significant part in the street fights the lead to the downfall of president Viktor Yanukovitch during the Maidan Revolution in Kiev last February.

Formed as an alliance of tiny far-right groups, the movement is described as fascist by the pro-Russian populations of eastern Ukraine, which regularly accuse its militants of stirring trouble by any means.

But they had, till now, essentially not been substantiated, to the point of being poked at as a farce on twitter and the Internet.

The rumour, however, has been in part verified by a series of pictures taken by Paris Match photographers. These images show Andrey Denisenko, one of the Pravy Sektor chiefs, among a group of mysterious gunmen that attacked a voting station Sunday in the small town of Krasnoarmeysk, some 60 kilometres from the separatist capital, Donetsk. After occupying the local town hall for several hours, the militiamen shot down point blank one local civilian, and killed two other unarmed protesters.

A REAL bad dude...

He is believed to be supported financially by the owner of PrivatBank, and the head of a group known as

Right Sector are the Not-A-Nazi Nazi’s we keep being told don’t actually exist.

Lots of people would like ask this guy about the sniper on the Maidan that night. Avakov had Sashko killed for a reason.

To add to that, there have been several tweets for several hours now, talking about a rebellion among Uke Army troops outside Slovyansk, who refused orders to attack the city, and some were shot by Right Sector NKVD.

Denisenko’s group may be the ones they are talking about that committed atrocities against Civilians tonight, in two small villages about 25 miles Southeast of Slovyansk, as well.

The evidence looks pretty damning in this case, and Right Sector is definitely the kind of neo-Nazi group itching to 'get involved' with their militia. But this article affirms that neither Kiev, it's Armed Forces or the National Guard are knowingly employing or are controlled by fascist neo-Nazi groups. The witness also clearly differentiates from the National Guard and Right Sector.

"Rumours had spread among separatists for several weeks about radical Pravy Sektor (or « Right Sector ») militants hiding amid government forces loyal to Kiev to perpetrate actions targeting pro-Russian groups in eastern Ukraine."

« "They arrived telling us they belonged to the National Guard, but we knew it was a lie » said Vitalik Naydiomov, a witness. « We all recognized the minivans they were driving, from PrivatBank ». "

"The government, on the other hand, has categorically denied that the National Guard or any other unit of its regular forces had taken part in the raid. The transitional government added in a statement that it was opening a criminal investigation into the murders."

The suspicion that American mercenaries are involved in this is well is troubling, but I'd be surprised if they really were that sloppy. Maybe they were hired along with the Nazis by some of the oligarchs? Wouldn't put it past them.

“Maybe they were hired along with the Nazis by some of the oligarchs?”

This bunch is definitely Right Sector, and this guy is directly connected to the Oligarch Kolomoisky, who owns PrivatBank.

Kiev likely didn’t order the killings, or the village attacks tonight, but IMO, this is connected to Kolomoisky.

Several witness also said they heard some of the gunmen speaking with strong western Ukraine accents. They also noticed that some of the gunmen appeared to come from the Caucasus area, possibly mercenaries from Chechnya. Other gunmen never spoke a word and seemed foreign to the region. French war photographer Jerome Sessini spent about an hour face to face with the gunmen before they opened fire. « I found that their general attitude and their very precise techniques gave off the impression that they were American mercenaries, or people trained by American mercenaries » said Sessini.

« I can’t guarantee this for sure, but I’d give it a 95 per cent, » added the photographer, who frequently interacted with various U.S. security contractors during his years covering the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. In Krasnoarmeysk, several of the gunmen were masked or wearing keffieh-style cloaks, which made it difficult to pinpoint whom among them had fired the lethal shots.

If his intuition is correct (big if there), there was more than just neo-Nazis there. Sounds more like someone hired a bunch of mercenaries from wherever he could find them, from all around the world, and then merged them into an ad hoc company. A very oligarchy thing to do, and not too surprising considering that their cash cow is on the line here.

Who cares? We’ve sided with fascist states and absolute monarchies in much of the Third World against Imperial Russia (before and during communist rule), for the same reason that we sided with a fascist China that was supported by Nazi Germany against Imperial Japan. A bigger Russia is a bigger threat to American interests, given the threat it poses to our biggest foreign market, the EU. Russia is an ever-present threat to the independent states of Europe, and has a long history of invading European states. Without Ukraine, Russia is already 4x the size of the European Union in terms of land area.

The Russian media have been doing their best to invent some American mercenaries in Ukraine. Take it with a grain of salt. The following are two photos presented by Russian media alleged to be "American mercenaries." It's actually a doctored AP photo. Note the Wendy's sign reappearing in the second. Check the link also that I'll post at the very end, which documents the rather sloppy disinformation on this:

First, the doctored photo:

Now the other:

It is probably same class of “Russian propaganda” as a Jewish registration hoax ordered by Kerry.
Every idiot would see this pictures has nothing to do with Ukraine, with or without Wendis.

Except this isn’t from Russia, it’s a French Photojournalist, working for a French Pop website that is kind of like VICE.

This guy is western, so his claim carries more weight.

I agree though, that if they are American Mercs, they are local hires by the Oligarch, (a.k.a. Kolomoisky’s Headhunters by the locals), not Kiev hires.

Not unheard of, and given his very public $10,000 bounty per head, dead or alive, for separatists, it has probably attracted several.

What's your point? I was responding to the claims of American "mercenaries" in Ukraine and Russian tv on the matter.

Mr. Kolomoisky is also apparently an ethnic and very active Ukrainian Jew, which would make the neo-Nazis a rather strange choice of employee.

He was President of the European Council of Jewish Communities.and the President of United Jewish Community of Ukraine.

He owned a news network called Jewish News One.
