Fencing, an Olympic sport sponsored by more than 30 NCAA schools, involves two athletes engaging in what is effectively a sword fight with a foil, saber, or épée. The equipment is blunted and does not have any actual blades or sharp tips. Unfortunately, for the newly-formed club fencing team at North Dakota State University, fencing equipment counts as a weapon, and the club has been barred from practicing on campus.

I can remember my university having a rifle team with a small-bore range in the basement of the Old Gym. ROTC used it to teach marksmanship and hold postal rifle matches among other ROTC units. We used some really good target rifles. Between PC and lead issues, I’m sure that’s all long in the past, even here in OK. I’m beginning to understand how the last Civil War widow felt, watching the world change.

Are all the school Administrators wearing silk shoes feathered hats and fluffy pink petitcoats? Man up, why don’t you. Life is not just something to be worried about, life and some risks are meant to be faced and embraced.

I see from old Roy’s website that he wants everyone to report bias, bigotry, and hate. He seems to be big on thought crimes.

How the heck do they expect to control the Bison or any cattle for that matter without fencing?

"I guess theyd better remove the forks and steak knives..." Add to that list Pencils. Chopsticks, shoelaces, rolls of quarters in the cafeteria cash register, socks (can be filled with sand or a bar of soap), nearly every tool used by campus maintenance, Col Mustard in the library with the candlestick....
The possibilities are endless for anyone who was taught to think outside academia.

If only these Eloi were as beautiful as some of the ones in the original movie. The Morlocks are just as ugly though.

Ah, the divine Miss Peel (Dame Diana Rigg) of
The Avengers! One of the early Brit TV imports and like JimRed, a favorite from my youth.
Probably greener in memory than it actually was but the memory was that the writing and dialog between the hero, John Steed (Patrick Macnee), and Emma Peel was superior (not just with a blade) and rapier-like wit (maintaining the thread meme.)
