Christie Says Running Against Jeb Bush Would Be ‘Stressful’
ABC News ^ | 5/14/14 | Erin Dooley

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie doesn’t relish the idea of campaigning against Jeb Bush in 2016.

In fact, a presidential primary tussle with the former Florida governor would be “stressful,” Christie acknowledged Tuesday.

“You like to run against people that you don’t like, not run against people that you do like and respect, so of course it would be stressful,” Christie said on New Jersey radio station 101.5′s “Ask the Governor” program.

“I am close with the Bush family … [Jeb] has been a wonderful friend to me, especially during [superstorm] Sandy and the aftermath,” he added.

When asked about the comment at the Peterson Foundation Fiscal Summit Wednesday, Christie explained that the host had forced him to choose between two alternatives: “stressful” or “kind of fun.”

“I was given a choice … so I said, ‘well, between the two, it would be stressful,’” he said. “I actually answered the question … but it won’t determine my decision. And I suspect it wouldn’t determine his either.”

Both Bush and Christie are considered relatively moderate voices in a party rocked by warring factions. And both have said they’re considering presidential runs.

Oh you poor thing.

Maybe if you were in shape it wouldn’t be so stressful, but I digress...

Hillary would have a “pig roast” with Christie.
Anyone could beat Jeb by just showing films of him talking.

I had thought Chris Christie has already been “neutralized”, and was no longer a contender.

The influx of cash and support for Jeb Bush is beginning to flow, like the rising tide, pretty much leaving Christie stranded, after the scuttle job done on him in the toll bridge business.

When he’s stressed, he swallows a lot of aggression...

The GOPe is doing something it knows how to do much better than the GOPtp: run one candidate at a time (ie, Jeb); discard like hot potato when damaged; move to next candidate (Cristie); repeat

The GOPtp, unless it has its act together, will run all candidates at once, and then it will be 10 GOPtp’s against one GOPe.

I couldn’t have cared less if he was taken out for being a RINO, but it did bug me him being trashed for something he probably had very little to do with.

The media really started early on him, because of his direct threat to Hillary.

IMO, he posed the biggest threat, because folks on the Left would have been more easily influenced to vote for him, rather than Hillary trying to pass herself off as a moderate.

Now she’s got a wide open shot at that slot, since Jeb will be characterized as ‘the Conseervative’ in the media, regardless of his standing with us.

Any ejected GOPe candidate can be rejuvenated as needed, if it fits the enemedia agenda. Does not matter how weakened they were, only if they can be resurrected to fulfill the need of being the proper foil against the 'Rat.

You won’t find a LESS engaged political junkie if either of these asshats are the GOP candidate. I will completely, 100% tune the entire election out. I don’t care if Stalin is running against them with Che as his running mate.

Yes, but which GOPtp do you run?

Let me guess...

The problem we have isn’t with who or how many that run, it’s the Leftists allowed to participate in the process.

Left to Conservatives, Jeb would wither and die within weeks. Open it up to the Democrats and people who still sucker for the GOPe, the RNC, and idiots like Rove, and of course we have problems.

The leftwing media holds a grudging half-hearted affinity for McCain. Despite all his similiar mushy moderateness, the media genuinely doesn't like Christie.

Christie's a mean bully who calls them names and mocks them. This hurts their feelings and makes them scared, so they will not let him bumblebounce back into contention.
