It never happened.

Fixing roads and bridges is the lie democrats tell to their ‘non-elite’ white members.
It’s the equivalent of the ‘we’re gonna take care of you’ lie they give to blacks... The ‘white’ version.

More shovel ready S**t? Yup. Back in 2008, when he was promising shovel ready jobs, he didn't tell us that we would be shoveling up his s**t for years to come. Everything the "O" does creates s**t.

Fixing roads and bridges is the lie democrats tell to their non-elite white members. It sure is. I recall back in the mid '90s Slick Willie "promised" he would fix all of the crumbling infrastructure. Still waiting.

and the $900 + billion that the fraud said was needed for shovel ready infrastructure jobs went where?
Yeah, Barry...I gotta see some results from this $900 billion I gave you in 2009 before I let you have any more. If you did what you said you were going to do with that money back then, well, there isn't a substandard road or bridge remaining in the lower 48. That is...if you really did with that money what you said you were going to do.
If, on the other hand, you were lying to us about that all this time...well, I'm sorry, but you don't expect me to hand money over to a liar, do you?

I live in the desert of Western WA. The highway to my subdivision had a big Recovery Act sign on it while the shoulders were graded and hydromulch sprayed on it. Since it is the desert, the grass that came up quickly died, and it returned back to sandy desert soon after. It’s as if it never even happened.

There was a Facebook post in the Lower Hud site and some minority was complaining that not enough minority workers on the Tappan Zee Project. I almost spit my coffee out so I posted “don't worry you can hire the 38k rapist, murders and drunks that Obama released”.

Wouldn't it be amazing, just absolutely amazing, if someone in the crowd actually interrupted with "you've been promising the same things for 6 years -- where's all the money from the stimulus you said would fix this stuff?" or to that effect. And then another person chimed in, "he's right, what happened to the money?" And then more and more, feeling brave enough, stood and asked too , until finally the whole room was erupting in Americans
demanding answers from this illicit buffoon of a president!
yeah, okay, I'll go finish my laundry now...

There are specific quotas of minorities that those contractors need to fill; the poster is full of it. What is more likely is that there are a large number of Hispanics (who may be mistaken for whites) and white women hired to fill the “token levy”. Probably twenty years ago there was a construction site brawl in NYC between groups of black and Hispanics who had shown up to fill the “token levy”; this is nothing new. These “jobs” are plum positions because they don’t have to do anything except show up and be black, Hispanic, or female; the work is done by white men. Hasn’t anyone noticed the 5’4” women in hard hats standing at contruction sites waving unnecessary flags for traffic (behind the cop car parked there to divert traffic already)? They are part of the “token levy” as well.

I see them all the time in PA. My other remark that I was going to write “Maybe these engineering jobs require intellect and education something illegals cannot fill”.

“I live in NY. Brain-dead leftist voters, many of whom are connected to the public unions absolutely LOVE this stuff. Besides crumbling bridges the other favorite slogan is how kids are suffering due to cutbacks in education.
Same here in NJ, though many voters are now responding to the hikes in taxes these workfare programs generate. As the private sector continues to flee the area (taking taxpaying employees with it), the funds to maintain the infrastructure go with them.

Because of the scrutiny involved in the melanin and testosterone of the workers on these projects, I think it is hard for illegals to work on these projects (as opposed to private work sites). The primary beneficiaries of these are the documented “victims” the benefit from affirmative action. When you see how much private sector union membership has shrunk in the past few decades, these jobs are among the exceptions (and probably the last holding on); these tokens are very expensive, and protected by law.
