PPP just released a new poll of Texas that should add a bit of context to Democrats triumphalist rhetoric about turning the state Blue. The only thing to change in the last five months is Wendy Davis disapproval rating it has risen even faster than her approval rating has fallen:
In the Governors race Greg Abbotts at 51% to 37% for Wendy Davis. Those numbers are largely unchanged from our last poll of the state in early November when Abbott had a 50/35 advantage. Davis had a 39/29 favorability rating right after her famous filibuster last June, but since then voters in the state have mostly moved toward having negative opinions about her and now shes at a 33/47 spread.
Republicans lead in all tested statewide races, and voters who self-describe as conservative comprise 52 percent of the Lone Star States electorate. See the full poll here. Davis campaign has suffered under a barrage of negative coverage.
She has gone from the champion of a controversial abortion-related cause to someone who backs away from controversy (and abortion), and to make matters worse, her inspirational life story had a few holes poked in it a few months ago.
Wendy Davis.....who??? Texas goes all “Red” this coming November, 2014!!!
Wendy has gone from the darling hope in Austin to the ghost in Austin. No one is talking about her now.
She entered the national stage by showing herself to be a rabid pro-abortion fanatic. No matter how much she tries to backpedal, that is a hard image to shake.
Many pro-life women have true inspirational life-stories. Being pro-abortion or having several abortions only shows irresponsibility--there is nothing inspirational about that.
Abortion Barbie pretty much defined herself....
The GOP just tossed a little fuel on the fire....
Hard to believe the dims hitched their wagons to her....but after all abortion is one of their sacraments of their faith...
She is a real looker by democrat standards. Hillary, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer , bow wow!
Notice the “media” show a fondness for using the term “darling” to describe a TEA Party backed candidate.. but we have yet to see the “progressive darling” or “pro-choice darling.” Interesting.
The best part is she raised $12 million for her race early on.
She’s fell out of the news so fast I thought she was dead
She’s trying to channel the ghost of Ann Richards only to find the ghost of Bozo the clown
