A 64-year-old man has been charged with unlawfully being in a house after he was allegedly found drunk in a two-year-old girls bedroom, just south of Hawkesbury, Ont., on Sunday.
The man, George Telfer, 64, of Dalkeith, was also charged with public intoxication.
The incident, which took place in the rural township of Champlain, is being investigated by Hawkesbury provincial police.
According to police, the man was found sitting on the childs bed in the early hours of the morning.
The toddlers parents were alerted to the situation after hearing noises coming from her room shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday.
Its alleged that when the girls father got out of bed to check what was going on, he found the man sitting on the childs bed.
Police say the man, who was very intoxicated, left the house after the father told him to get out.
When officers arrived they found him sitting on the patio. It is not clear how he entered the home.
He was arrested and detained until he sobered up, police said.

I get the tresspass charge, but the PI charge escapes me.
He was sitting outside on the patio when the police arrived.

Everything sounds so normal, the guy was drunk, no dogs were shot, no one was beaten.
This happened in Canada, and sounds like life 50 years ago.
The drunk probably deserved a beating
You really want to beat up an old 64 year old alcoholic?
Okay, but i doubt it’s a public patio. I would guess that it has something to do with the reality that he had to pass through public space in order to get to the house, which is an abuse of our system of laws, IMHO.
The drunk is lucky there are anti-guns laws in Ontario. He is lucky to be alive.
don’t sneak into the baby room of a strangers house
The 64 year old drunk is damned lucky he didn’t find St. Peter or Lucifer depending on where he was heading...
I can’t imagine what went through the father’s head when he saw someone on his child’s bed. People think I’m paranoid for always locking my doors when I’m home. It takes a split second to secure your castle.

Sitting in my 2 year’s old bed in 5 in the morning? Nope.
I’d really want to shoot him.
The drunk is lucky to be alive.
So that is a yes, you are foolish enough to want to beat up 64 year old alcoholics.
BTTT!
finding a stranger in your childs room would be terrifying for most people and many will react violently. It is natural.
If it was in bed with my kid i would have beat the sob to the brink of death but hey thats just me
