Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said on Sunday the U.S. military should review its ban on allowing transgender people to serve openly in the armed forces, saying that "every qualified American" should have an opportunity to serve.
President Barack Obama has made lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights a priority during his time in office, and in 2010 signed legislation ending the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that had prevented gay men and women from serving openly in the military.
Hagel did not make clear whether he felt the ban on transgender troops should be reversed.
"The issue of transgender is a bit more complicated because it has a medical component to it," Hagel told ABC's "This Week" program. "These issues require medical attention. Austere locations where we put our men and women in many cases don't always provide that kind of opportunity."
But in backing a review of the ban, Hagel said: "I'm open to those assessments because, again, I go back to the bottom line: every qualified American who wants to serve our country should have an opportunity if they fit the qualifications and can do it."(continued)

I may be wrong but don’t they need to take hormones to maintain their preferred gender? What happens when they can’t get them? Bearded ladies?
These people are stupid.
However, if we parents who have taught morality desert the military in the time of need, then we will leave the nation’s major military weapons in the hands of those with unnatural affections. IOW, these traitors to themselves, will not hesitate to align with anyone who strokes their egos, and they will not hesitate to turn their weapons against their own people.
We should NOT allow any “identified grouping” of people to be the military over people they see as different than themselves. That would be like encouraging a military whose members are all of the “Nazi grouping”.
We should not permit them to build our own demise with our own money and with our own knowledge and with our own refusal to participate.
Do not leave such power only to the turncoats. That is, I think, one of the things they are HOPING to accomplish.
Code for, “we’re going to admit transgendered and pre transgendered individuals before the much more qualified.”

I agree. I am also pretty sure an absence of mental illness is one thing that makes one qualified to serve.

Chuck Hagel is an absolute embarrassment. He is a disgrace to Nebraska. His, and Joh McCain’s, actions leave no doubt that they worked, and have been for years, as willing dupes of the Democrat party. They simply have no shame.
He said “qualified”. Obviously there was a reason they aren’t qualified. Might have something to do with combat readiness.
Transgender operations to change the outer genital areas are extremely expensive. I’m wondering if transgender volunteering to get into the military might have more to do with access to free medical treatment than to patriotism.
Looks like I got out too soon. I would have enjoyed being female for one day every 6 months and only having to do about 12 pushups and run a 14:00 mile pace.
I retired from the Air Force as a senior NCO. No way in 40 hells would I go in again, and I tell any young person I can not to go in if they have any Christian beliefs. The Kenyan has destroyed the military by turning it into just another big social experiment. Lesbian commanding officers and sodomite commanding officers run the military. Asskissing general officers appointed by Obama never question one thing the idiot wants. They put their careers over the care and well being of the the troops and the mission effectiveness of the force. It is a breeding ground for predator homosexual predators. We had the finest military in the world since the founding of the country and the Kenyan has not only destroyed the morale in the military but very soon will have destroyed it’s capacity to fight a war with the Canal Zone. And the Republicans sit idly by and cower down to him like a dog in heat. From the sodomization of the military to women in combat roles that absolutely can not do, Republicans have been a willing accomplish. And when was the last time I general officer retired instead of bowing down to Obamagabe and going right along with the destruction of the force?
Yes, they are all on the same side, the wrong side.
