roughly 10x more people are murdered with blunt weapons like hammers anually than with assault weapons. maybe new york should ban hammers instead of assault weapons.

For example, in 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle (of any kind) but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.
