I have worked in Nigeria and know what I speak. Radical Islamists are at war with the West. The day we understand this is the day they lose. If we do not understand this is the day we lose. We lost already in Somalia. When we elected an East African Muslim as president twice we showed there was no fight left in us at all. No American troops will die in Africa; soon after (and because of) Somalia we ignored the Rwanda genocide because no Americans will support losing our soldiers in that hole.

Sadly, since “we” includes vast swathes of ill-informed morons, at this hour “we” are losing, but the endgame is full of hope.
You could put a finer point on it if you zero in on the reality that Islam’s War On The West is rooted in the West’s centuries-old embrace of Christianity, and Islam’s enmity with Christianity is rooted in Christianity’s apostolic recognition of the Jews as the Covenant People of YHVH (ref. St Paul’s letter to the Romans chs. 9-11). The Islamists aim to eradicate Christ-followers, because Christ-followers understand their position as heirs-by-adoption to the promises of YHVH given under the Abrahamic Covenant, which understanding makes Christians brothers-by-another-mother to Abraham’s natural descendants. This realization carries the direct implication that the fate of Christianity worldwide is INEXTRICABLY ENTWINED with the destiny of both the people, and the land of Israel. All of that brings Christianity into direct opposition to the dearly-held Islamist goal of wiping Israel from the face of the Earth. Christianity will make her last stand on the Seven Hills of Jerusalem, defending to the death the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign nation. Happily, St. John The Revelator was gifted to see that this last stand will be joined by massive reinforcement at the eleventh hour, and ultimate victory will be secured; think “Helms Deep” amplified to the Nth order of magnitude, where N is one plus the largest number that the human mind is capable of associating with the idea of “quantity.”
The only hitch is that there’s a WHOLE LOTTA junk to go through between now and then.
