When Rybkovsteva showed the receiving doctor the photo, “he immediately said it was clearly an elderly woman who was photographed, for some reason, here in such a pose, likely in order to create the needed effect.” The physician called higher medical authorities, who confirmed there was no pregnant woman among the dead.

Just imagine how much more desperate we would be if that lost territory included America's ONE AND ONLY year-round warm water port. Thankfully we don't have that crippling weakness, but Russia does and that's why Sevastopol is so critically important to Russia.
NATO was not offered to Georgia and Ukraine for the sole reason that Russia preempted NATO's plans. After NATO added twelve new members allied against Russia, Moscow said enough and drew the line in Georgia in 2008. USMC units were holding joint exercises in Georgia in the the mid 2000s, and I wondered then how long Russia would tolerate our presence on their border; it wasn't long. Then when we aided the Maidan overthrow of the Ukrainian government this February, Russia wasted no time securing its bases in Crimea. Make no mistake, we fully intended to make full NATO members of both countries. That was absolute lunacy.
