I didn’t think it could be made 40 years ago, but it was. The difference is that it wouldn’t be made today, not that it couldn’t.
It certainly broke taboos when it was released. In fact, it did its bit to tear down all taboos in Hollywood comedies. We are still living with the consequences.
I decided to post a small bit from my favorite lines in the movie as my new tagline. The next line is a classic:
"I hired you people to try to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots!"
Dave Chapelle made some pretty funny stuff on TV even less than 10 years ago, but realize that there is a double standard in this country.
