Right, and the pope should lead by example. Empty the treasuries, sell off the vast collections of artwork, unneeded buildings and all the luxuries around the vatican first.
You’re entitled to your opinion. The pope is living in austere quarters, as you may have heard. Whether otherwise he will live up to the standard you are setting, you can decide.
The Catholic Church does more to feed, clothe, etc. the people of the world than any other church. Sheer numbers. So what is your point?
BTW, the Vatican is not rich; do some digging and find out about the flow of money. They run a tight ship.
