They should wave crosses and stars of David. That would be infinitely more fitting considering the enormous tragedy that those hammers-and-sickles represent.
And as for the Star of David, the Nazis and Soviets neither one had any shortage of Ukrainian volunteers to help them carry out a Soviet pogrom or Hitler's directives either one.
