Sixty-nine years after the end of World War II, nearly a third of Austrians would like to have a “strong leader” (Führer) at the helm of their country “who doesn’t have to deal with elections and a parliament”, according to a new study published on Wednesday in Vienna.
Asked about what Nazi rule from 1938 to 1945 had given the country, 36 percent of the 1,015 Austrians surveyed answered “both good and bad things” while three percent said “primarily good things”. […]

Do these idiots not understand that if it was Austrians along with Jews that Hitler hated on whim that they would have suffered the same consequence! Someone correct me if wrong but did not Austria cater to the Germans in WWII?
Most countries have an army. In Germany, an army has a country.
Maybe we should let the 8th AF and Bomber Command pay them a visit or two like we did at Dresden, hamburg, Berlin, etc.

This news sounds more reasonable when you hear it spoken in the original Austrian.
What is it that some countries such as Germany, Austria and even Russia would rather have a dictator rule over them than be free?

The USA is even worse. 53% of votes (counting dead and fictional voters) were for Obama in 2008, and 51% in 2012.
Last night I watched a German documentary called "The Unknown Soldier," which was produced in the late 1990s and concerned the Wehrmacht's collaboration with the SS during the Holocaust. During protests of the so-called Wehrmacht Exhibition, a traveling exhibit focusing on Army war crimes, the media tried to interview old German soldiers who felt like they were being wrongly smeared. However, when the 20-something neo-Nazi protest leaders intervened and ordered them to shut-up, they fell right back into old habits and meekly did as they were told.
Very telling.
I wonder how many of those polled were Austrian Jews....
