HGTV has canceled a new reality television show, Flip It Forward, that was scheduled to debut on Home and Garden Television this October, after learning the stars of the show are pro-life.
During the program, brothers David and Jason Benham would be helping families purchase dream homes they otherwise couldn’t afford.
In each episode, the guys help a deserving family find a fixer-upper and transform it into their forever home – with a healthy dose of sibling rivalry between the brothers along the way, HGTV says in a summary of the show.
Yesterday, the network confirmed it was dropping the show, saying on it’s Facebook page: “HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers’ series.”
However, Home and Garden Television has decided to cancel the show after pro-abortion activists outed the brothers as pro-life. The pro-abortion group People for the American Way tagged the brothers as “anti-choice” extremists in an article on their web site and includes comments one of the brothers made about God abhoring abortion:
Gods word clearly says bloodshed begets bloodshed He also tells us whatsoever a man sows so shall he reap. What we as a nation have sowed in shedding innocent blood on a daily basis at abortion clinics has come home to roost upon all of us. Yes whether we like it or not we are all guilty of permitting the sin of abortion in our nation. This includes you and I (Pro-life) pro-choice and the entire network of our society.
Not content to allow HGTV to cancel the show without a response from pro-lifers, a faith-based group called Faith Driven Consumer is urging pro-life people to respond.
“Following the sudden cancellation of the upcoming HGTV series “Flip It Forward” simply because the stars of the show, brothers David and Jason Benham, hold a biblical worldview on the issues of life and marriage, Faith Driven Consumer is announcing a brand new grassroots campaign called #FlipThisDecision to return the show to the network’s fall lineup,” the group informed LifeNews.
“David and Jason Benham are well-qualified to star on an HGTV show, they are well-respected members of their community, and the network has invested time and treasure in developing ‘Flip It Forward’. Now, this project has come to a screeching halt simply because the Benham brothers hold a biblical view of life and marriage,” FDC’s Chris Stone said. “This is pure intolerance, discrimination, and bullying toward those who hold to widely held and legitimate views. HGTV’s rash actions hold no place in America’s rainbow of diversity. Whether people agree or disagree with the Beham’s faith-driven perspective is beside the point; the Benhams have a right to have those views and to be treated equally with those who hold to other viewpoints. This is the very definition of tolerance.”
He added: “Through its actions, HGTV is in conflict with its own stated core values of integrity and diversity, which emphasize ‘having a strong moral compass which points to character, honesty, ethical practice and accountability’ and hold that all are included in the ‘broad canvas of interests, backgrounds, lifestyles and ethnicities.’ This is the height of hypocrisy.”
Stone concluded: “We are launching #FlipThisDecision today and asking people to join us in a loud call for tolerance, fairness, and respect. The goal of this campaign is clear — we want to see ‘Flip it Forward’ returned to HGTV’s fall lineup and our fellow Faith Driven Consumers afforded their rightful opportunity to test their show in the American entertainment marketplace. We urge everyone to go to FlipThisDecision.com, sign up, and join the campaign for tolerance and inclusion.”

Ping!
Apparently half the nation is banned from TV
Someone remind me again why right wingers hire homosexuals? Or liberals? Perhaps those that do might want to rethink that and give a qualified straight and pro life person the job. Look around. they exist I swear.
Does this mean the ‘Property Brothers’ are pro abortion or is that another company?
Who knows?
Couldn’t this be considered employee discrimination? Aren’t their laws for this? Discrimination against someone for their religious beliefs?
??? These are two pro-life brothers whose program has been shelved because of their pro-life position. Did anyone mention homosexuals?
Homosexual
Gay
T
V?
HGTV. Every episode of every show on the channel. Same libs, same causes, same people, same activism against people that don’t toe the liberal line.
I believe HGTV is a gay run/managed endeavor is it not?
Take that poor people who these guys were helping afford homes. You’re nothing compared to Al Queerda.
If I watched HGTV, which I don’t, I would now have a good reason not to watch it. When does the push back on this crap start people?
HGTV is run by Scripps network out of Knoxville, TN.
Scripps specialized into “lifestyle programming”. They have had several controversies such as this, including flag desecration on their network.
And I just wonder what ‘lifestyle’ their management specializes in.
I lied. I don’t wonder.
“Does anyone actually watch
Homosexual
Gay
T
V?”
LOL !
HGTV audience seems to be mostly older women

so if your audience is primarily fag-hags and gays, maybe banning the Benhams makes sense
News reports are saying the brothers are anti-gay. Anti-gay pro-life what difference does it make anyway?
This has to be grounds for a religious discrimination suit.

Tolerance? Diversity? The Left will have none of it. Dissent is not allowed.
I believe Home Depot is one of their biggest sponsors. At least it was when I used to watch it. The sponsor needs to be contacted, not necessarily threatening a boycott, but to voice our anger at this. I think if the sponsor gets enough angry letters, HGTV will get the message. Not that I would watch their network again. They have too many homosexual shows, not to mention glorifying shacking up when they have unmarried couples buying homes so they can cohabitate.
