Why the rush? I’m sick and tired of these whinyass, “I want it now” politicians.
Squirrel!
My electric co-op sends out little brochures with the bills- you know, those things hardly anybody reads. But I do.
I was amazed to see how virulent they are against the global warning and carbon stuff. They write very strongly about electric rates rising severely. I wish more people read the stuff.
“Under my plan, electricity costs will necessarily skyrocket.”
— Barry Hussein
Hurry up ... America’s not being destroyed fast enough!
Our investor owned utility, PG&E, does the exact opposite. They try to convince you to use LESS of their product every year and to install enormously expensive solar on your house. Screw ‘em! Just produce enough electricity day and night to satisfy the demands of the residential, commercial and industrial customers — that’s all we ask.
This is the link on my electric company’s webpage.
People cannot say they are not being warned.

I'm not an advocate of Solar Energy or a "greenie" by any stretch of the imagination --- but have you looked at the cost of solar panels lately?
I have, the prices have crashed. I started looking at them 4 years ago, the same set of solar panels and the kit for them that I can buy today for $400 cost over $2,000 4-5 years ago.
Calculating the number of watts I need to run my house during the day (excluding air conditioning in the summer) I can run my entire house (excluding A/C) on two panels and kits, cost $800 and I can install them myself. Payback period is under 2 years.
That's not bad really. Gets me almost "off the grid" were it not for needing A/C in the summer here.
My electric coop said the same thing. Of course they had to be politically correct so they said (at the annual meeting) that they would do their best to incorporate small amounts of alternatives into the mix while trying to keep a lid on rates. In Virginia wind and solar stink so they are even more correct about that than say Arizona or Texas.
Last time I checked, panels were about a buck a watt. Electricity is 12-14 cents around here and panels have a 20% duty cycle in summer, less in winter. Assuming that comes to 2kWh per year for each $1 of panel, that's 7 years at least to break even, probably more like 10.
Dammit, we can’t wait - we need to destroy jobs NOW!
Must get these rules in place NOW ,so no future President can change them , Ya Right
Which is why I excluded my A/C in the summer and stated "almost off-grid." If I threw the A/C into the mix I'm betting you're right (or the payback's even longer ....)
My saving grace here in the winter is I heat my home with a woodburner w/convection action built into it. My furnace is primarily backup, so our electrical usage in the winter is pretty low. One TV, one Refrigerator, computer and some lights (which I'm always yelling at the kids to turn off.)

Correction: Also would need alot more panels if including the A/C, thereby also driving the cost up and the payback out further ...
The elite AGW leadership smell blood. A major point of the climate change scam is to politically dis-empower the energy industry by wrecking it.
It’s working.
“Duke Energy lost $97 million in the first quarter after reducing the value of a fleet of coal-fired power plants in the Midwest that it is trying to sell.”

So being optimistic, taking a $1 panel that is rated for 1W, you get 1kWh per 4000 hours (1000 is 25% of 4000). So in a little less than 1/2 of a year you get 14 cents worth of electricity from that $1 investment for one sunny season.
