Afeni Shakur has been tapped as the keynote speaker for The Trayvon Martin Foundation's "Circle of Mothers Empowerment Retreat." The purpose of the weekend event is "to comfort , inspire, and empower mothers who have experienced the loss of a child due to senseless gun violence."
Like myself, Afeni Shakur has had her loss played out in the public eye," says the foundation's founder and Trayvon's mother, Sybrina Fulton, of the late Tupac's mom. "We, partnered with Lisa Nichols, will be able to impart the tools and wisdom we've gathered to help everyone that attends."
The foundation was formed shortly after the 17-year-old Florida teen was shot dead on February 26, 2012 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman. Its mission is to spread awareness about the impact of gun violence on the victims' families.
The retreat will take place May 16-18 in Weston, Florida at the Bonaventure Resort and Spa. Get more details here.

Afeni Shakur, the former Black Panther, activist, and mother of rap superstar Tupac Shakur, took on the duty of finishing the work her son was unable to complete after a bullet took his life in 1996. She is currently working to make his dreams a reality as founder and CEO of Amaru Entertainment, Inc., a record and film production company, and creator of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, Inc.

Another failure of a parent held up as an example of how humanity ought to be.

When he was nineteen, still residing in Indiana, he made his first trip upon a flatboat to New Orleans. He was a hired hand merely, and he and a son of the owner, without other assistance, made the trip. The nature of part of the "cargo-load," as it was called, made it necessary for them to linger and trade along the sugar-coast; and one night they were attacked by seven negroes with intent to kill and rob them. They were hurt some in the mêlée, but succeeded in driving the negroes from the boat, and then "cut cable," "weighed anchor," and left.

If only Trayvon had retreated, all these opportunists couldn’t use him to work their shuck and jive routines.

This faker Shakur and fulsome Fulton ought to have a healthy taste of “sidewalk violence” before they take on the cure for “gun violence” — both of which can be readily cured by the correct application of Sam Colt’s “Peacemaker.”

It wasn’t iced tea, but a watermelon drink perhaps used to make sizzurp.

The host, Bonaventure Resort and Spa, is in for some property damage, and horrible treatment of its staff. I hope they got paid up front.

Trayvon Martin Foundation? What do they promote - how to buy Skittles and beat up whites? Or is it how to get suspended from school?
Bonaventure Spa...isn't that a expensive hotel...?

The retreat is a gathering of feral hoodlums celebrating the death of a felon, an attempted murderer.
