After a big promotional push by ABC and NBC, Democratic House candidate Clay Aiken leads his primary opponent by 372 votes out of 28,000 cast on Tuesday. If Renee Ellmers loses and Republicans gain a net 5 seats that is 237 house Republicans.
Is it going to be a disaster because Republicans did not have 238 House Republicans because some people oppose Ellmers handing sovereignty over to Mexico?
I am sorry, but that’s pathetic to wish this on the GOOD people of NC’s 2nd district.
I don’t think they want a Democrat like Clay Aiken representing them (with incumbency, btw if he wins).
The district is R+11.
So is my district in the 7th (and because Mike McIntyre had been an incumbent) was able to hold it until he decided to retire.
Do not take anything for granted, and wishing for a lib dem is not a good thing (even against a not great Republican).
McIntyre is better than Rouzer on amnesty. Now that McIntyre, Shuler and Walter Jones set the standard for opposing amnesty if Rouzer wants to be comfortable in that seat he will have to oppose amnesty in case of a 2016 challenger.
Shuler and McIntyre have done less harm to the GOP than Ellmers and Pittenger have the potential to do.
You don’t live in my district, and you’re wrong on Rouzer.
