The Republican establishment gloated after three underfunded Tea Party challengers failed to knock off incumbent Republicans in primaries on Tuesday while another establishment-backed candidate secured the GOP nomination for Senate in North Carolina.
"Next up is that fraud @MattBevin! #GOP, tweeted Jahan Wilcox, a former aide to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who is now the RNC's director of rapid response. (He later deleted it and said his thoughts were his personal opinions.)
Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC) defeated her primary challenger Frank Roche despite a series of high-profile outbursts in support of amnesty. Ellmers was heavily backed by Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg's FWD.us group.
Folks should be talking more about Ellmers, tweeted Becky Tallent, a senior aide to Speaker John Boehner who formerly served as one of Sen. John McCain's top amnesty lieutenants.
Boehner (R-OH) unsurprisingly coasted to victory against challenger J.D Winteregg. In response, Ana Navarro, the Jeb Bush ally, promptly tweeted,"Congratulations to @johnboehner on decisive primary win. Rumors of his demise were greatly exagerated....who's crying now?"
Ohio freshman Rep. David Joyce defeated Matt Lynch, who was endorsed by FreedomWorks and Ron Paul, which prompted Brian Walsh, the former NRSC director of communications who still advises the group, to tweet, "BOOM."
In the night's main event, Tillis avoided what would have been a costly runoff to win the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate by securing more than 40% of the vote. He will take on vulnerable incumbent Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC) in the fall. Tillis defeated Greg Brannon -- who was backed by FreedomWorks, Rand Paul, the Senate Conservatives Fund, and nearly every local Tea Party group -- and Mark Harris -- who received the support of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.
Meanwhile, Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Chamber of Commerce, and American Crossroads backed Tillis for the win.

Then stop hitting caps lock, buy ammo, and prepare for the end.
A disgusting little tramp for sure. The Republican Civil War has been on for a good five years now. And if the Establishment is to win with their billion dollar donors, fine. What will they have won? They’ll have a party with 50% of its base staying home on election days. So, they will never achieve over 25% of the vote in any contest.
A crown is no good when you’re the king of dogs7it. The GOPe would do well to remember that.
Everyone should keep in mind that Greg Brannon and Matt Bevin are FATALLY flawed candidates with some godawful sh*t in their pasts. Whoever is vetting these folks isn’t doing a good job. That’s why the “Tea Party” is still sadly an amateur hour operation. Conservatives need to recruit stronger folks to take on the traitors like McConnell, Boner and Graham. We all hate John McCain, and then who do we challenge him with? The clown J.D. Hayworth.
Thats why the Tea Party is still sadly an amateur hour operation
Funny, after the endless stream of establishment candidates who got their butts handed to them in 2012, I was about to say the same about Karl Rove’s group. Let’s see where amateur hour really lies come general election day, when Mitch loses to Grimes and Tillis goes down like a lead balloon.
Not sure that I agree with election fraud this go around. I have long thought that too many GOP state committees have killed the GOP by letting the primaries remain "open", thus allowing Demonrats to cross over and negatively affect the results. As Stanton Evans called it, the GOP is the "stupid party."
Navarro is a Democrat at heart too. Face it folks the Democrats successfully infiltrated the GOP with a bunch of RINOS. That inside job that we always joke about has happened and the party is doomed along with the country. Liberals + RINOS = The destruction of America from within.
I just don’t think we can impact these races anymore. Too many infiltrators etc.
Best option now is to focus all efforts on electing really radical conservatives to local and state positions. You might say this is useless because of all the federal mandates, but if you get enough radical conservatives elected, they will just ignore the laws from Mordor on the Potomac. Laws are only as good as those who are willing to enforce them.
Yes, they’ve succeeded in maintaining their quisling, appeasing featherbeds for yet another round of terms that will continue in second-tier allegiance to the Obama Masters. They are rightly proud of themselves this day.
If only it would be they show such gracious and reserved treatment towards their Conservatives across-the-country aisle as they do their “good friends” the Democrats.
They are a contemptible lot, these RINOs. It damn near makes one hate them more than the Democrats.
To celebrate their victory, I will be voting against my Congressman, Doug Collins, in his primary on May 20th because of his vote (with John Lewis and Hank Johnson) on Paul Ryan’s debt limit capitulation bill.
I also will not be voting for any currently-elected Republican running for Senator in that primary.
I am beginning to fear this is true. Boner boy suddenly changing his stance and doing something to get to the truth just smells bad. A leopard never changes his spots ..... neither do these lying rinos. They are killing our country and don’t care and the young are too STUPID to see what’s coming!
Prepare for daggers to the back. It amazes me how these establishment fifth column pole-bearers talk about how much the GOP doesn’t need the Tea Party, and then beg us to turn out on election day for their mini McCains. Go beg the rats for votes.
My husband and I had a little talk. We had a limited amount of donation money and we split it up amongst 8 tea party type candidates.
This is proof positive that we’re doomed and the “people” will keep voting for the established candidate.
We’re not voting for Jeb Bush, or Chris Christie, so we’re gonna sit back and wait for the collapse.
If the majority doesn’t want freedom and justice, who am I to argue with them.
That's okay. If I really cared what anyone thinks, I'd have a Facebook page and a Twitter account trolling for "likes" and "followers.
Actually, I'd be willing to debate it all day long, if only to keep them occupied in the hopes that they wouldn't be off somewhere else infecting some other unsuspecting, unprepared person with the "RINOvirus" disease to which I am immune.
In response, Ana Navarro, the Jeb Bush ally, promptly tweeted,"Congratulations to @johnboehner on decisive primary win. Rumors of his demise were greatly exagerated....who's crying now?"
You will, when Hillary becomes President, thanks to your GOP-e, neo-statist, Gringa de Mexico antics.
“Next up is that fraud @MattBevin! #GOP,
Folks should be talking more about Ellmers,
“Congratulations to @johnboehner on decisive primary win. Rumors of his demise were greatly exagerated....who’s crying now?”
“BOOM.”
It’s like high school without the zits.
Or the GOP is just fulfilling its mission of being the Democrat auxiliary. The uniparty rolls on.
That is the key. As long as GOP primaries, especially the early ones, are open, the GOPe will remain in power. The GOPe is, in effect, the DimLight Party.
I think McConnnell may well lose to Grimes. Not my point, and be clear I support tea party folks. But it IS an amateur hour operation, with mostly weak, vulnerable candidates not properly vetted, because there are too many straw bosses -- who mainly exist to make their principals rich (eg. Tea Party atriots, Tea Party Express, TeaParty.org which is a scam org, etc). There is NO "Tea Party" as there is a GOP. It is a loose amalgam of interests that cannot possibly hope to stop the GOPe at this point.
Thee is only one party in Washington: The Re-Election Party, dedicated to the personal enrichment of its members at taxpayer expense. Washington will never reform itself—it will only get worse. Elections can stave off the inevitable but the only viable long term solution is to restore our constitution:

Neither are fatally flawed. That’s crap. Both are far superior to the alternative. Nitpick anyone’s life and there is something that can be spun. The party smart people also think Cruz and Lee are fatally flawed. They happened to win anyway. They pick a lot of losing candidates. Now they are dumping massive money in the primaries to smear conservatives and rEtain party control. Who’s got the worst flaws. McConnell who has allowed radical leftists to run over him and advance their agenda or Bevin, who...gasp...spoke at an event where they rallied to legalize cockfighting? Which person has damaged the country and hurt people and sleigh is a side show issue? Dump enough money in Kentucky and suddenly the side show becomes the main issue.
They are drunk on fiat money. This will end in war, poverty, misery and revolution. Ala France, 1790s.
