House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) coasted to a primary election victory Tuesday over tea party-aligned challenger J.D. Winteregg and two other opponents.
The Associated Press declared Mr. Boehner the primary victor with about 8,600 votes cast — about 6% of precincts reporting.
Mr. Winteregg, a high school teacher who raised less than $50,000, represented Mr. Boehner’s most robust primary challenge in years, prompting the speaker to air television ads for himself. Mr. Winteregg’s campaign was aided by $350,000 in third-party spending, but it was hardly enough to give the speaker a scare.
Democrats Tom Poetter and Matthew Guyette are competing for nomination to face Mr. Boehner in the November general election.

But we, in Kansas, don’t deserve the government that the idiots in Cincinnati deserve. But we have to get that same government.

This is an important point. It’s pretty simple. The people in power are IN POWER. They have the power to stay in power, the link being in power. Why would we think they’d allow themselves to be removed from power? They’re doing quite well the way things are, why would they change the way things are? For the good of the country?
When Jeb Bush becomes the Republican nominee, will we finally give up on reform through policy?

I completely disagree, and would say there are far fewer D’s than R’s who know what they’re voting for. There’s empirical information that backs me up. Maybe I misunderstood you.
And right where they want it to be.
Republicans look at a total crap shoot. When I voted for Ronald Reagan, when I voted for Tom McClintock, when I voted for Palin (not McCain, but Palin), the political approach of the guy I was voting for was solid and clear: Less government. Those candidates advocated for the conservative use of government, as in the conservative use of butter in cooking. But on the other hand, when I voted for Schwarzenegger, when I voted for Meg Whitman, when others voted for Romney, when others voted for Boehner and Santorum and any number of Republicans, they were voting for Republicans who have always advocated for the LIBERAL use of government -- more, bigger, government.
It's a crap shoot. We hope for a Republican congress to fight Democrats, but it's a crap shoot whether or not those Republicans will oppose Democrats; on the other hand, when Democrats gain control of Congress, Democrats who voted for them are ASSURED that those Democrats are going to oppose Republicans.
I stand by my words. In their political philosophies, Republicans are a crap shoot; Democrats are a sure thing.
After all these years, you still don’t understand how election calls are made? I suggest you read up on how news organizations call elections. It is fairly simple and straightforward. You won’t be so amazed next time.
I understand. People who vote for a democrat will not be disappointed. The people who vote for bigger government, will get it. If they vote for the breakdown of moral values, and persecution of Christians (which is the goal of a lot of Rat voters), they’ll have it. If they vote for the empowerment of labor unions, more abortions, more people dependent of government. These are all reasons people vote for Rats, and they’re not disappointed.
I still think, if Rats were honest about what they’re about, they wouldn’t win elections in any state.
In this case, there was minimal information, to the effect that only 6% of the ballots had been counted, but the race had been called. Obviously a lot more ballots have to be counted to call a race. My concern was of political dirty tricks, that one of the campaigns had called the election early to discourage voters for the other campaigns.
