Megyn Kelly is reporting that so far Thom Tillis is doing VERY well.
Bye bye Kay Hagan...

So, you are happy with the setup that the ‘Conservative Victory Project’ (Rove’s group) gets millions of dollars from the CoC amnesty crowd, injects it into EVERY primary in the country to elect more senators like John McCain and Lindsey Graham, and then we go out and elect them only to complain about what a&&holes they are in congress two years later?
I despise Hagan as well. She’s your typical Democrat, but some of us are kind of sick of being used by the establishment. They knee-capped Cuccinelli in Virginia when he won the Republican nomination fair and square, did everything they could to drain his funds. So now they’ve got one of theirs on the ballot, we sing their praises like peons with Stockholm Syndrome?
Is this one way street attractive to you?
Tillis is in with 45%.
No run-off.
I would like to thank Brannon and Harris for running. They were all worthy of the primary.
Tillis vs Hagan this fall. Hagan is the Dem incumbent. Tillis will represent the GOP.
NC is sick and tired of Obama and anything associated with him. Kay Hagan is that anything.
Well, hold on. This country was brought to this point because of Obama yes, but WHY did Obama win? Why did he have both chambers of congress?
You can blame the media or white guilt or young dopers all you like, but the fact is the Bush admin was a disaster. Senators like John McLame and congressmen like Peter King HELPED the Democrats destroy this country.
“Tell me about it. Im still trying to remove arrows from my back for not voting for Romney”
“Statists” used to use a flank maneuver. Now, it’s full on from the back.
And similarly, I never want to hear you complaining about RINOs in congress when they vote to expand government, or go to war in some ridiculous place we have no business being, or to give us amnesty. As Ted Cruz has said, if you vote for it, you support it.
Most of us develop thick shells after a while.
I COMPLETELY BLAME the education system, and the media!!! Say what
you will about GW he loves his country!!! THE MEDIA DESTROYED HIM!!! JUST AS THE MEDIA HAS DESTROYED THE TEA PARTY!!!!
These ARE VERY DANGEROUS times for our republic GW was a SAINT
compared to this SOB, and don’t you EVER forget that!!!!!
You need to actually look at the Bush congress and the amount of money they spent. Very few Freepers defend the actions of the Bush congress. We are happy a lot of that slime was cleared out because they were not conservative.
The reality is that I loathe Rove and voted from Romney, with no enthusiasm.
I don't disagree with your assessment of Tillis, but reality is something we don't always like. I completely agree with your statements about the Virginia governor's race. The establishment, one can kindly conclude sabotaged the campaign. The establishment is a mean and ugly reality that needs to be taught a lesson, but how? There isn't enough leadership across the country to persuade only the strongest conservative to run, so the conservative votes aren't split.
I believe we have Obama today because absolutists can't be satisfied. I have no doubt if Romney became president, he would have offended us by now a number of times - but again, 70% is better than nothing, which is what we have now. Obama is nominating horrible judges who will be on the bench for 30+ years. I am enough of a realist to know Romney would have nominated some horrible judges, too - but most of them would be OK. It is hard to settle for just OK, but sometimes that is the best you can get and it frustrates people.
I recall Reagan saying he was happy to get just a portion of what he wanted. He said the reason is that I know I can go back the next time and get a little more. We may not like it, but that is how politics work.
Take abortion, it has been 40 years and really for the first time, there is some traction of limiting abortions through laws and/or regs. It is a slow motion game and always will be.
Not to say that I haven’t built up some armor and developed some scar tissue...but, I can, now, smell the stench of these Quislings a mile away.
Nothing but frontal assaults from now on. And, that’s the easiest to defend from no matter what banner is being flown.
A lot folks here will think we win if he GOP takes the senate.
Just wait to the 14 Gangsters rise from the dead to clog up
anything conservative.
Tillis is Hagan Lite. He will have problems.
I believe we have Obama today because absolutists can’t be satisfied.
The Ruling class has everything we working class conservatives don’t: all the money and time in the world to defeat us.
But we can’t give up. We will never give up.
...and McCain and Romeny were rated in the high 90%s by a conservative organization. I say that rating doesn’t mean squirt.
VOTE how EVER you wish it is ONLY ONE vote I on the other hand
will VOTE for the hand WE are given whether I LIKE IT OR NOT!!! This
republic CAN NOT STAND through another O type!!!!! I WILL take the
baby steps and realize there is NO OTHER WAY, right now!!!!!
I understand what you are saying, but I and many others are just so tired and frustrated with the consultant class who really choose our candidates at this point, because they control ridiculous sums of money, donated by people who you and I would have NOTHING in common with (i.e - the Chamber of Commerce). They bought this election plain and simple. Tillis barely campaigned. He took Rove’s money and bombarded the airwaves and used mailers, along with a very suspicious court case to attack Brannon. I don’t know if you ever listened to a Brannon speech, but this guy was a Ted Cruz. An excellent candidate. Now we have another Connie Mack IV going up against Kay Hagan, someone who is a lapdog for lobbyists.
What good does taking the senate do us if it is not with enough actual conservatives to make a difference? I voted for Romney, and the schmuck before him, despite the fact that they were totally beholden to the chattering class, which was the reason they lost! Romney flatlined in the debates because the advisers told him to play it safe. These ‘advisers’ are the puppet masters of the GOP and they hardly ever allow a Cruz to slip though.
So what? Do I give Tillis my support to defeat Hagan, and then in two years when Republicans have done nothing to dismantle Obamacare, and Cruz again tries to stop the Democrats, and this time its Tillis attacking him on the senate floor instead of Bob Corker or that idiot from North Dakota? Is this the cyclical game we have to play, where we put their candidates into office only to complain about them as soon as they get there, where they destroy every single candidate we put up and state that as their goal (Mitch McConnell)?
These guys are losers. Mark Levin repeatedly says this. Even when we, the grassroots, give them a victory like in 2010, they surrender time and time again. Thatcher once said “If you don’t stand on principle, you won’t stand at all” and we aren’t standing.. in fact we’ve been flat on our asses since Clinton.
And you and I both know when Tillis is in there, he’ll be like Thad Cochran. He’ll never go away. He’ll just sit in the senate for decades unless a rat defeats him, pork barreling money for his pet projects, conspiring with Mitch, decaying in his chair. It’s tragic this is what we’ve come to.
Harry Reid appreciates your grit and determination.
Carry on...
Nice rant. Totally concur.
Chin up! We may incur more victories this Nov. than we were planning on. Of course the Chamber wants to ‘win’ the first races this year, but they may be in for a surprise of the unknown unknowns come election.
So do I, but the William F Buckley quote is:
"Always vote for the most conservative candidate that can win".
At this stage, we look pretty good in the various House races conservatives are battling in. For the senate, the only real gains look like Nebraska and Oklahoma. I’m going to focus on Mississippi. McDaniel has a real shot, and I want to help him.
As for Brannon, I really hope he runs again, maybe to unseat Burr.
