How so? We have an obligation to take care of people who are legitimately in need.
But an able-bodied lazy person? They can starve.

Why do we have an obligation to take care of those in need? Most anyone can come up with a legitimate need. The Constitution doesn't provide for that.
The only people who should be taken care of by the federal government are veterans. The states can do what they want.

How so? We have an obligation to take care of people who are legitimately in need. Yes, "we" do, meaning we the people, not a constitutional requirement but a moral one. Immoral or amoral people have no legal, constitutional requirement at all.
