According to the new Pew Research survey, Americans are ready for a change of direction. By a 2-1 margin, poll respondents said they want the country's next chief executive to pursue "different policies and programs" than President Obama.
The publics desire for a change from the presidents policies is almost as widespread as it was during Bushs second term, according to analysis that accompanied the poll results.
Some 65 percent of Americans want the next president to pursue policies and programs that are different from President Obamas. Just 30 percent want someone who will pursue similar initiatives, and only 5 percent are undecided.
Obamas policies remain slightly more popular than President Bushs. Seventy percent of Americans wanted a leader who would pursue different policies at the same point in Bushs presidency (April 2006). Only 23 percent wanted a president who would act similarly (7 percent were undecided).
The survey of 1,501 adults (including 1,162 registered voters) was conducted April 23-27 and has a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.

We could have done that in 2012 .Bet they elect Hillary unless Benghazi kills her off
Nice news to hear.
We have seen what will happen if we put liberals in charge. In Obama’s first 2 years, we saw what happens when a liberal president teams up with liberals in control of both houses of Congress.
Glad to see Americans are rejecting liberalism.
How long before MSNBC calls this racist, if they cover it at all.
If anyone thinks JEB! will provide a new direction, they are smoking something. All the Bushes are globalists just like their best friend B.J. Clinton and the current pResident. JEB! will lead us into the New World Order that Poopy Bush wanted along with a global currency and a new feudalism. He is utter scum.
Only those tratorous GOPe RepubliCRATS can decide that!
When one finds out liberalism makes you poor you CHANGE.
Our “new direction” is the first woman President who will make gender equality her first priority along with fixing Obamacare.
Here’s the problem. Imagine the “direction” is color, and obama’s color is blue. When they ask people if they want a different color, 70% says YES. That means 30% like blue. However, if one asks the others what color they want, 10% say yellow, 10% say green, 10% say red, etc.
And we are left with blue being the most popular color at the end of the day.
Now every swinging D!ck will want a crack at the sure thing. We will see a dozen or more people debating each other for the nomination.
If we do, hopefully, we can trim the field down quicker than last time and get behind a good centrist GOP candidate... Just kidding!
But hopefully, quickly we will have our best choice figured out early and not have 15 debates with 12 mealy mouth candidates drowning out real conservative candidates.
And God Please Silence John McCain in any way you see fit. I don’t care who he endorses or if he tries to run himself again, just silence him. Thank you!
At the rate that the nation is declining, it will be interesting to see how desperate people are for change a couple of years from now when we go from bad to worse. The next two years are going to be truely frightening IMO.
Don’t hold your breath. My guess is the Dem wins the WH with 55% of the vote. We have been suckered by these types of polls before. We keep being told that Americans are overwhelmingly conservative then we elect Barry twice.
Liberalism: equality in misery.
Last night on the Fox All-Stars both George Will and Steve Hayes seemed to agree that anyone who endorses Common Core can NOT win the GOP nomination in ‘16.
Seems like Jeb is headed straight for that iceberg.
Yes - intelligence and sanity - these days, that would be a VERY new direction indeed.
Given the nature of government and the people who work therein (if you can call it work), it’s also rather unlikely.
Glad to see Americans are rejecting liberalism.
Managing for what you don’t want, gets you no where...................
Liberalism the first step to communism and the misery grows,
I guess the low-information voters have slowly, painfully discovered that they don’t want Marxism after all? (Hey, I can dream, can’t I?)
Or they’ve decided they want a much more robust Marxism that delivers a lot more freebies.
