Friends of Abe, a private group of conservatives in Hollywood's TV and film industry, hosted an evening with actor and former Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles Thursday night, The Hollywood Reporter learned Friday.
Thompson screened for 50 members of the group his upcoming film, Persecuted, about a Christian televangelist who is framed for murder by government operatives because he refuses to bow to the will of a powerful U.S. senator. The filmmakers call it a "religious thriller."

Religious thriller? Must be a one-of-a-kind category. I’m still waiting for a religious comedy.

I certainly hope he isn’t thinking of muddying up the Presidential Candidate waters for 2016. I pretty much counted him out 8 years ago, and much more so with his “reverse mortgage” commercials.

You know the other day when I read the article with Rob Schneider I wonered how long it would be until some actors with conservative values would have the balls to throw down the gauntlet and say Hollywood is not just for liberals and bam there it is...

Not to mention pimping the national popular vote.

A disappointment, and he seemed to me to just waste the contributed money his hopeful constituents gave him. His heart just wasn’t in it and he diverted contributions that could be been better spent elsewhere.

All you need is an R and you are conservative. The media makes you what they want you to be and they still can’t spell rino.

Fred Thompson(yes I WAS a “FredHead” too) was NOTHING more than INTERFEARACE for MacPain!

James Woods and James Riley are two Hollywood conservatives that I've become quite friendly with online due to our common interests. Ken Wahl is another solid conservative. Of course there is Pat Sajak.
James Riley is a big colonial history buff who agrees that conservatives must be engaged in the culture war. A great post he wrote yesterday about AMC's "Turn" despite it competing against his largely self funded historical show. (Courage New Hampshire)
Our Take on Turn
We live in a great, though fading republic, and the truth is: we need a lot more of these stories. We shouldnt be counting them on one hand.

Good to know about Riley. I love colonial history and am enjoying the heck out of Turn. (Love the interactive maps, etc on the show’s website, as well.)

I looked up James Riley. He plays Patrick Henry. Apropos of nothing, I was fascinated by Patrick Henry as it was my first “big kid” book I ever read. I was seven. We have a common first name. Pat. LOL the things we remember.
