A professor at a public university in North Carolina forbade his students from thanking God in personal statements that will be delivered during their departmental graduation ceremony on Friday.
In an email obtained by Campus Reform, Assistant Professor Eli Hvastkovs, who teaches chemistry at East Carolina University (ECU), instructed his students to prepare a family friendly 35 word personal statement that mentions future plans or thanks someone. The students, however, were explicitly forbidden from thanking God.
I've had some submissions that needed to be edited. so [sic] here are some guidelines, the email reads. 1. You can't thank God. I'm sorry about this and I don't want to have to outline the reasons why.

Wow, just wow. In North Carolina can you imagine how many butt stompings he will get before graduation happens? The student will probably pray for his recovery.
Angry parents? These people graduating college will be 22 at least. Full-blown adults. If they need mommy and daddy to come straighten out anything for them, they’re already screwed for life.
I wonder if he is banning statements that thank miraculous random chance events.
This is over as of today. The SCOTUS has ruled. Mention God all you want. Give others ,like “wiccan whores” their time and LOL at that. WE WIN!!! PRAYER WILL NOW BEGIN AGAIN IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS. Jesus reigns!!
Dear Students,
JUST SAY NO!
God Bless
F him an everyone like him.
Really? You don't want to tell me why you are imposing an arbitrary regulation that you are not allowed to impose?
Then you will understand when I ignore you.
Here is his email, let him know what you think!

i am really sick of this BS. It is time ...well I can’t write what I want for fear of the ZOT.
But “getting back” is a base motivation.
Please go see ....God’s Not Dead......(one of the most powerful movies, taken right out of the headlines)
well made......totally worth seeing
The prof is a member of the Spaghetti Monster cult.
Here’s the thing. He can’t tell anybody what they can or can’t say.
He's too smart for us. We wouldn't even be able to understand his reasons.
Nope. They like that. Takes you down to their level. You know what ACTUALLY gets them, in almost any situation? Something akin to "You ought to be ashamed of yourself." Because, deep down, they always are. ALWAYS.
Who died and appointed this jughead king?
Once I got up on the stage..I would thank God anyway and it would be too late for him to do anything about it. That diploma was paid for with money that says, “In God We Trust,” and HIS salary is paid with money that says, “In God We Trust.”
Isn’t this Mike Adams’ (who is frequently quoted on FR)university? I am sure he will have some choice remarks on this.
What’s your point?
