Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network.
If you want to talk about what really harms our troops, let’s talk about politicians who gut our military’s budgets, or a president whose skewed budgetary priorities slash military benefits, or an administration that puts our vets on endless waiting lists for care that comes too late to help those who’ve paid the price for our freedom, or those who break bread with those who think it makes no difference how our military heroes died in Benghazi or anywhere else trying to protect America. Those actions are a heck of a lot more harmful than declaring an appropriate message our enemies should receive. If some overly sensitive wusses took offense, remember the First Amendment doesn’t give you a right not to be offended.

Well, like any other PDSer you got too arrogant. you thought that you were still on DU, home and first love of the PDS brigade, or the MSNBC site. You simply forgot that we are much smarter than they are. So exposing your cunning plan was mere childs play ;)

I think it is just terrible that Palin hasn’t shown any sense of acceptance to people that do not think like her. And I will NEVER forgive her for not taking random PDSers to Alaska on hunting trips into the deep backcountry.
There is simply no excuse for that. None. I think it would set an example and go a long way toward removing some of the polarization between PDSers and people whose IQ surpasses room temperature.
True, it might take a while, but with concentrated effort, I think the PDS would go away after a while.

Why can’t she take them grizzly hunting? WHY!?!?!? It would solve so many issues. Build bridges. I mean anyone knows that people need to come together to get things done. The Alaskan hunting trip could easily do that.
She brings the gun, they act as bait to draw the grizzly in to range. What, I ask you, could be a more perfect example of cooperation?

With all due respect Mrs. Don-O , if you go back and read the full beginning of the thread as a fellow named Dreher whom is identified by responding Freepers as a bit of an iconoclast..if that.
I have nothing against Christians, I do not care for reactionaries as this author appears to be.
But, you make your own call.
Rod Dreher, whom I have been reading regularly for years and was "friended" (and never "unfriended") to me decades back, is the exact, literal, accurate opposite of an iconoclast.
He is an iconodule.
I mean in both the precise religious sense and in the wider social and political sense (although, understand, he is more a cultural than a political writer.)
I am not exactly with him on denominational lines (since I am Catholic and he is Orthodox), but I would reckon he is more conservative than at least 60-65% of the Republican Party --- with gusts of up to 80 --- and if that makes a person a reactionary, I will join him under that banner in a heartbeat.
