Libyas parliament swore in a new prime minister Sunday despite a disputed vote and walkouts from a largely secular bloc, lawmakers and a Libyan television reported.
Despite the protest from a number of non-Islamist parliamentarians, the interim parliament swore in 42-year-old businessman Ahmed Matiq in a televised session headed by the second deputy of parliament, Saleh al-Makhzoum, and member of the Muslim Brotherhoods Justice and Construction Party. [ ]
Al-Sharif al-Wafi, an independent lawmaker from Benghazi, said the swearing-in was unconstitutional and defied democratic principles. He said the second deputy of parliament continued the session after first deputy Ezzeddin al-Awami had adjourned the session following the vote and ensuing chaos.
Authority in Libya has been seized, al-Wafi told a news conference in the capital, Tripoli.

and that mb enabler ass in the whitehouse is having a great day!
Too bad we don’t have an AMERICAN in there!
So we seen the final results of Obama's Libya campaign.
Tyranny.
If the guy is a heavy-handed thug who can bring sanity to Libya without going overboard as the MB did in Egypt, I wish him well.
So then it's al-Hassi who is backed by the Islamist bloc? I believe that's how the above comment reads.
This would be good news then.
Last time Libya had sanity (relatively speaking) was under King Idris, who was deposed by Qaddafi. None of the existing elements in Libya are about what we would describe as sanity; certainly not someone who got in with the backing of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Nope. The way Matiq got in was with the MB’s help too.
The problem was that Khaddafi's Libya was getting too successful and breaking away from EU/US and their banking and resources domination.
Research "Aztec Oil and western Egypt".
Qaddafi renouncing terrorism is like Hamas renouncing terrorism. We’ll always have “US citizen” useful idiots working to improve the image of tyrants; leopards don’t change their spots.
Correction....it’s not Aztec Oil. It’s Apache Oil. You’ll also find some references to some fairly recent oil finds in Egypt. The whole Arab Spring situation just might have been so the west could control those resources and the port at Benghazi.
Don't see that in the article.
How do you come to know that?
And it was the hardline Islamists against the MB?
They had candidates, but the Islamists shut them out. Sorta like what happened in Egypt back in 2011.
