Hundreds of thousands of whites left South Africa following the ANC's landslide election victory in 1994. Twenty years on, the exodus shows signs of slowing, even reversing. Jane Flanagan spoke to some of those who have returned.
Nicky and Craig Irving spent five years in Australia before moving back to Cape Town with their three daughters.
They were among the last members of their respective families to emigrate amid fears over the crime wave that swept South Africa during the 1990s.

They remind me of some I know who live in LIB/DIM states. The best thing to do is leave but they hang on “hoping” for some sort of positive change. It will never happen in these LIB/DIM havens. Sucks to be an Afrikaner right now. But during Apartheid they deliberately kept Blacks as second class citizens and didn't include them in government, so right now chickens came home to roost.
If only the Boers kicked the Brits out, South Africa would be in much better shape today.
Stockholm Syndrome can sometimes be fatal..
