I do not believe that belligerent dictators building empires is something American can afford to ignore. The world changed, isolationism has been destroyed by technology. We can no longer be untouchable seating on our little island and sticking our head in the sand.

As for the excuses for why Russia is justified to take Crimea, all of these can be used to justify a Mexican reconquest of Texas.

You do realize that the United States invaded Mexico in a two year war and occupied its capital before dictating the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, don't you? That's how we got California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. But Russia is expected to stand by and watch while NATO plants its flag and forces along its exposed western and southern borders. I doubt Moscow is buying that argument.
