Pro-Russian separatists shot down two helicopters in a key eastern Ukrainian city, and fighting in the port city of Odessa triggered a fire that killed dozens, as the embattled nation moved closer to the brink of civil war.
Interim Ukraine President Oleksandr Turchynov said "many" pro-Russia rebels have been killed, injured and arrested in a major offensive to regain control of Slavyansk, though it was not clear if the Kiev-backed forces had succeeded. Russia reacted angrily to the offensive by Ukrainian security forces, calling for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council after a spokesman for President Vladimir Putin warned it "effectively destroyed the last hope for the implementation of the Geneva agreements."
In the Black Sea port city of Odessa, Ukraine's third-largest city, a fire that broke out in a trade union building amid clashes killed 31. Fighting there represented another ominous milestone in the conflict that threatens to become a full-blown civil war, as Odessa holds huge historic significance for Russians and Ukrainians alike.

The Ukrainian Army is killing civilians.
The civilians are Ukrainian.
The Maidan crowd claim to be the government of the Ukraine.
The present government of the Ukraine has command the Ukrainian Army to kill Ukrainians. They aren't a bit better than the government they overthrew, they're just in charge of the stealing and killing now instead of being bit players in it.
Straight forward, PERIOD.
They knew they couldn't win the upcoming elections so they overthrew the government. Odds are they can't hang onto power much longer without NATO troops to keep them in power.

Isn’t it interesting that so many people who said “Get the US out of the worldcop business” suddenly want to play worldcop?
How does that work? Were they, rock ribbed patriots that they surely are, lying then or now? Because one cannot be worldcop and not be worldcop simultaneously. Or is it another case of situational ethics? Of course conservatives abhor situational ethics.

Well when one bases their beliefs in liberal ideas, say, ignoring the actual evidence, and ignores facts like an MSM reporter, I have to guess that one could hold two diametrically opposed ideas.

But wasn't it the equally elected parliament impeach the president?
If our Senate voted to convict an impeached president and remove them from office would you call that a coup?

When the Parliamentarians can look out the window and see a mob burning police alive, that's called, "coercion".
Therefore, it was not a legitimate vote by a legally elected Parliament. It was a vote made under duress at best if not outright made at gunpoint.
When police burn near me, I start shooting. I do not believe in shooting the dog unless the dog gives no choice. I do not believe in shooting period unless ... I have to let them decide.
OK, so you admit that the vote happened, but somehow the members of parliament were under duress.

IMHO most of the posters on FR who villify those who do not swallow the “Putin is Lenin reincarnate and let’s go fight Russia” have...interesting...posting histories.

Yea, one name in particular turns up in a lot of them. Some even had the same level of ‘devotion’ we see here and a willingness to attack those that wouldn’t bow and scrape there either.
