The father of a 17-year-old exchange student shot dead in Montana departed the U.S. on Thursday after criticizing the nation’s gun culture and arranging for his son’s body to be flown back to Germany.
Celal Dede flew out of Missoula after securing the release of Diren Dede’s body, which was transported from Montana on Wednesday afternoon, German consulate spokeswoman Julia Reinhardt said.
Before he departed, Celal Dede told the German news agency DPA that he had never imagined his son could be shot for simply entering somebody’s property.
“America cannot continue to play cowboy,” Celal Dede said. …

The father is trying to make it sound like his kid was just in the man’s back yard. I do not think they take kindly to strangers traipsing around one’s back yard in Germany either, much less the garage.
You know what I don’t like? Deutschland’s anti homeschool culture.

Early Sunday, the sensors went off, and Kaarma and Pflager looked at the video feed and saw that someone was in the garage.
Kaarma went outside with his shotgun. He told investigators he heard a noise that sounded ‘like metal on metal,’ and he was afraid the intruder would come out and hurt him. He said he did not see anyone in the darkened garage and did not communicate with anyone before sweeping the garage with four shotgun blasts. Dede was struck in the head and arm and died at a Missoula hospital, court records said.
Kaarma told police he fired high to avoid hitting the car in the garage - but court records showed that three of four shots were aimed low.

Ironic that the shooter’s name was “Kaarma”...as in entering the garage was bad “karma”!
Yada, Yada, yada, blame America and it’s gun culture. There are enough guns in Germany among its citizens that this is a ridiculous statement. Morons never blame the real reason for deaths, guns are just easy.

If he’d done a better job parenting his son wouldn’t have gotten shot because wouldn’t be stealing someone else’ $hit...: )
You would think a homeowner in Montana of all places would be safe from foreign a-holes breaking into their garage. A warning to foreigners: there are more guns and attitudes in Texas than there are in Montana. Don’t like “cowboys”? Then stay the hell out!
