People who enter Mexico should *always* expect the worst.I'm far more concerned by US citizens of any sort,Border Patrol or common citizen, being fired upon while in the US.I occasionally visit a town in northern Vermont that borders on Quebec. In fact when there I go to a place *right* on the border (you can easily see the signs posted by the Canadian Immigration Patrol) and yet the Canadians have never fired on me.
When I travel from DFW to Phoenix to visit GrannyBuckeye, I take the northern route through New Mexico instead of the southern route through El Paso.
The last time I did take the southern route, I stopped at a McDonalds just this side of the U.S. border for a break. From my truck in the parking lot, I watched a very large transfer of drugs between two 18-wheelers. Armed men were watching from a stand of Mesquite nearby. They weren’t trying very hard to hide.
Sásabe is in Arizona.
