Race is, hands down, the most repulsive aspect of the Donald Sterling scandal. But sex is a close second. To listen to the taped conversation between the octogenarian owner of the Los Angeles Clippers and the 30-something V. Stiviano is to glimpse the tawdry and inherently unequal arrangement between — well, let’s put it primly, benefactor and recipient.
The Sterling-Stiviano deal appears to involve a transaction as old as time. We’ve seen it before, yet we rarely see inside it in such unvarnished, ugly form.
Just look at the photos of the pair courtside, and you know what’s up: Sterling, puffy-faced and unattractive; old enough to be Stiviano’s grandfather, no less her father; but powerful and, perhaps more relevant, fabulously rich. Stiviano, striking in a Cosmo girl way, with a Mexican/African American background that makes Sterling’s reported aversion to having her associate with — or, more precisely, appear on social media to associate with — African Americans all the more bizarre.
They met, according to a lawsuit filed against Stiviano by Rochelle Sterling, Sterling’s wife of more than 50 years, at the 2010 Super Bowl. Donald Sterling allegedly proceeded to shower Stiviano with luxuries: a 2012 Ferrari, two Bentleys, a 2013 Range Rover, a $1.8 million home and $240,000 in living expenses.....

I totally agree. This man is and has been a narcissist and, possibly, psychotic, for many years..Now, I believe he is demented. However, the population of so called “leaders” in this world is full of people like him and they are nothing new..The book of Proverbs from the Bible describes them and the “gold diggers” who chase them perfectly..Their end is also described and it is not pretty.

I'm sure the IRS is taking great interest in the Sterling matter. I wonder if Donald paid the gift tax on all those gifts to his "friend"?
They will also be interested in the tax on "imputed income" from her rent-free house.

I agree. His problem was that she was embarrassing him when seen in public with oversexed young studs. He explicitly had no problem with her seeing other men (black or otherwise), even encouraging her to have sex with them in private.
She was humiliating and diminishing him. If she didn’t like the rules, she could leave at any time.
He didn’t want her associating with blacks because it made him look bad. People would talk about her preferring black men to him or that he was plain unable to perform so she had to go outside.

Sterling didn’t want “V” to flaunt her black boyfriends in his face in public, but apparently he had no problems being seen with her. Wonder how that double standard sat with Mrs. Donald Sterling.
