Soooo....what about every other country on Africa doing the same thing?

What about South America? Why ignore them? Why Ignore the half of the middle east we haven tried to world build yet?

And where is the cash coming from to do all this? Where? you cool with just printing more or hitting China up for...oh wait, can’t do that this time.

There is ZERO sense in any of this. Isolationism is not the act of minding ones own international business. And it’s damn peculiar that suddenly after decades of screaming against the evils of being worldcop, half the right wants to play worldcop.

Odd that.

“what about every other country on Africa doing the same thing?”

There is no compelling national interest in Africa, except for ensuring chromium stores are accessible.

“What about South America? Why ignore them?”

I don’t see a compelling national interest there.

“Why Ignore the half of the middle east we haven tried to world build yet?”

Nation building is generally a folly and specifically a disaster in most muslim nations. The only interest we have their is to ensure the free flow of oil through the Straits and to ensure that Iran does not get nuclear weapons.

“Isolationism is not the act of minding ones own international business.”

It is the act of withdrawing entirely from the world, specifically, when vital US interests are at stake. Russia confronts us at every turn, whenever they can, even while weakened. They are an historical enemy and further, they relish the role. It is in our interest to impede them and contain them.
