Italian judges report that convicted Amanda Knox killed roommate with knife . . .

The appellate court in Florence on Tuesday issued a 337-page explanation for its January guilty verdicts against the American and her former boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito.

American beauty Amanda Knox slit her roommate’s throat with a knife in a fit of rage over being accused of stealing money, the Italian court that convicted her explained Tuesday.

The former exchange student from Seattle delivered the fatal slash as cohorts restrained victim Meredith Kercher during a 2007 drug-fueled get together, the judicial panel in Florence asserted in a 337-page document.

In their lengthy dissertation explaining the “motivation” behind their guilty verdict, the judges said the evidence shows Knox “lashed the deadly wound to the throat.”

The judges also concluded that Kercher, 21, of Great Britain was stabbed with “two different knives,” including the one wielded by Knox.

The report found Knox’s ex-boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito and Rudy Guede were equally responsible for Kercher’s death.

Guede, who is serving a 16-year prison sentence for the murder, told investigators that Kercher had accused Knox of stealing 300 euros from her bedroom in the house they shared in Perugia, Italy.

“Meredith was immobilized and was unable to put up any useful resistance due to the fact that she was overpowered by a number of aggressors and simultaneously stabbed with the blades,” the judges wrote in the report.

The report was written to support the panel’s conviction of Knox and Sollecito in January. Defense lawyers now have 90 days to appeal to Italy’s high court.

From her home in Seattle, Knox scoffed at the report.

“The recent motivation document does not — and cannot — change the forensic evidence: Experts agreed that my DNA was not found anywhere in Meredith’s room, while the DNA of the actual murderer, Rudy Guede, was found throughout that room and on Meredith’s body,” Knox said in a statement Tuesday.

“This forensic evidence directly refutes the multiple-assailant theory found in the new motivation document,” she said. “This theory is not supported by any reliable forensic evidence.”

She said she remained “hopeful” that the Italian Supreme Court will “once again recognize my innocence.”

Knox has vowed to fight any attempts to extradite her to Italy, saying, “they’ll have to pull me back kicking and screaming.”

She and Sollecito were initially found guilty in 2009 and both were sentenced to 25 years in prison. An appeals court overturned the convictions in 2011 and released Sollecito and Knox, who immediately returned to the U.S.

In March 2013, Italy’s highest criminal court set aside the acquittal and ordered a new trial. During the retrial, Knox, who remained in Seattle, and Sollecito were convicted.

I think much of the sex games and drug use and partying existed mostly in the mind of the overzealous prosecutor— a lunatic in his own right with a long history of prosecutorial misconduct. He’s been in it for the headlines from the beginning.

What are talking about ? Do you know anything about this case. This is the third new theory the Italian courts are using against this girl. There was no clean-up. The African killer, who is now in jail, had his blood everywhere. If she was involved in sex=-lay. or anything....her DNA would be there. This idiot court said she cleaned up her own DNA.

It’s the odds. If there were 50 murders in similar circumstances I might be inclined to give her the benefit of the situation. But no. Guilty and involved. No way she wasn’t involved.

It’s the odds. They are against her innocence. If you believe otherwise so be it.

Not that I needed a reason not to move to Italy.

People need to read up on the case to see what this nut-job court did to this girl......The prosecutor was/is insane.

I’ve given up on contacting my Representative and Senators weekly. I now do it only twice a month.

Agreed on never leaving the USA.
Our laws prohibit double jeopardy.

The Italian legal system also prosecuted a bunch of seismologists for their failures at predicting the future.

Amanda Knox deserves better than to be left at threat by the superstitious Italian ‘legal’ system that allows people to be prosecuted over and over for the same crime no matter how flimsy the evidence.

Since she was previously found "not guilty", extraditing her would subject her to double jeopardy, which is why I think US judges will likely say no.

I don't know about you but I've done a certain amount of traveling in my day.Countries as civilized as Canada,Britain,Germany,Australia and Japan among others.I've also visited countries as *un* civilized as Vietnam (as a tourist, not a soldier),Indonesia,Tanzania and China..among others. When entering each of those countries (civilized or not) I knew that I was subject to *their* police,*their* courts,*their* judges,*their* laws...for better or for worse. The same is true for foreigners coming here.Do you think that Canadians or Mexicans who commit wanton murders in Texas should be exempt from the death penalty simply because *their* home countries don't have the DP and oppose other countries having it? No,I didn't think so.Neither do I.

I read extensively about this case when she was acquitted. It was clear the prosecutors for some reason wanted her railroaded (likely b/c she is an American)

If this crime occurred in America, I am certain Knox, after a careful forensic analysis, would have been exonerated.

For the court to say she "cleaned" up her own DNA is laughable.

Not to mention he used the toilet and didn't flush - leaving behind a treasure trove (ewwww) of DNA. His guilt in this is as undeniable as the impossibility of Amanda Knox being able to 'clean' only her DNA from the scene while leaving blood and Guede's DNA, intact.

The Italian prosecutor has a sordid history with making up ludicrous fantasies and presenting them to the court as fact. He only stays in his position because of Italy's notorious practice of public office nepotism.

You might want to read the case before you send this kid to her imprisonment. This case is a joke.

Italy is beautiful beyond words.I'm convinced that I was an Italian in a previous life.I'd love to live in Italy for part of the year (but not July...outrageous heat and humidity) and will very probably do so at least for a while. And while there I'll make sure that I never get within a hundred miles of any serious crime, just as I've always done for my entire life...both at home and abroad.

Aside from the lack of any real forensic evidence the thought that this suburban kid is going to hook-up for 3-way sex with a jobless criminal from Africa & her BF & then hack her roommate to death is laughable.

This idiot court said she cleaned up her own DNA.

A student and part-time waitress figured out how to mastermind the perfect murder in which she "cleaned up" any evidence of "her part in the murder." Yeah right.

They have the guy who actually did it. This is crazy.

In a sane world, there's no way she would ever be extradited. The Italian "case" is a mess. Their process has been farce.

But we're in the Obama-zone now, so who knows?

And, guess what? Countries without death penalties ROUTINELY demand that the death penalty be taken off the table before they will comply with an extradition request for one of their citizens to the US.

If they can make their laws govern whether one of their nationals gets extradited here, then WE can apply the same principle when extraditing one of our citizens would cause her to be subject to double jeopardy, or when some Muslim country wants one of our citizens so they can execute him for "insulting Islam".

I agree. We are now on the third theory of how this girl masterminded this slaughter. I think it’s obvious that they are just making stuff up at this point.
